I'm going to intentionally assume that the Django on your list is the original Sergio Corbucci western starring Franco Nero. It's a great watch.

Those are real "classics".

Pretty high brow group of responses here.

I think you should make your way through John Candy's work.

Planes Trains and Automobiles, Great Outdoors, Uncle Buck, etc.

Cape Fear is a great one. Watch the 90's one with Nick Nolte, then watch the old one from the 50's.

Lot of those old films on Tubi. I havent got any music recorded because I've been deep into old martial arts films of the 60s and 70s and blaxploitation of the 70s as well on there.

From your list Pulp Fiction and Shawshank are must sees. I would also watch Casablanca.

What got me interested in catching up with the classics was watching Scorsese's earlier work. I knew I loved Goodfellas and Casino and thought his newer Gangs of New York was cool so decided to check out Raging Bull and Taxi Driver. Then on to Mean Streets, The King of Comedy, and After Hours. I enjoyed it all so much I decided to dig into other famous directors' filmographies.

Since you've seen The Shining, look into that director's legendary filmography.

Since The Godfathers is your favorite, Apocalypse Now is a must watch.

I'm laughing at what's being referred to as " classics ". Not that they aren't good or great, but it's about perspective, I suppose.

For me, the list would include...

Rear Window
The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance.

Some war flicks -

Patton
A Bridge Too Far ( amazing star studded cast )
Bridge over the River Kwai
Midway ( 1976 )
Battle of the Bulge
Memphis Belle

There are a bunch of movies in the 60's and 70's that I'm assuming will be listed. Some more recent titles -

Chariots of Fire

LA Confidential.
The Usual Suspects
Tombstone

Classic comedies include -

Blazing Saddles
Young Frankenstein
Animal House
*Caddyshack
*Blues Brothers

* Don't even bother with either of the sequels. Just don't.

Seeing most of my suggestions posted. Yojimbo mixed in with some Clint Eastwood westerns. Really dive into the mythology if the Ronin and the Gunslinger being interchangeable.

Not that it's a classic, but watch Inglourious Bastards. Immediately. You're welcome.

Watch Shawshank as soon as possible. Then watch Fight Club. They are two of the few examples where the movie is better than the book.
