Because we all know what they’ll do, take a very straight forward and simple premise, convolute it with too many threads, overlong backstories, subversion, terrible CGI and fill it with unnecessary pork in general.

Previews looked like it was more about a guy trying to dress like Sting than it did a Crow sequel

The Crow 2.0 is a total, head-in-hands disaster, incoherently plotted and sloppily made, destined to join the annals of the very worst and most pointless remakes ever made.

Would be 60 this coming February. It makes you think, "What might have been?"

When I heard about this I was ready to give it a chance - even thinking that maybe they’ll do a Zach Snyder 300 style shot for shot remake of the original comic.

Then I saw the trailer and was like WTF is this shite ??

"It was no real surprise that a tortured update of 1994's cursed goth revenge thriller The Crow would be a misfire – it's been in development since 2008 with multiple directors and actors attached ever since – but it's genuinely startling just how utterly wretched the finished product is and how unfit it is for a wide release."

Probably gonna pass.

Confession: I’ve never seen The Crow.

Really need to fix that.

If River and Brandon had not died young, Johnny Depp would have had a lot more competition. That's not taking anything away from Johnny. He's a fantastic actor, but a lot of his roles would have gone to those two over the years. Hollywood history would have been a little different.

Currently with a 1-star rating from PostTrak from people who have seen it already, possibly heading for the first F Cinemascore since 2020. What a dumpster fire.

I mean, the trailer looked absolutely terrible... if that was the best they could take from the movie to entice people to go see it, it was destined to fail.

The original doesn’t hold up to todays population. I loved it as a teen and still love it. People that didn’t do not enjoy it. I tried to watch it with my wife and she bailed out early. It was a cult hit a long time ago. There was no need for this one. That style of movie seems to have disappeared.

The plot drags on unnecessarily, exhausting the patience of the viewer who was expecting a story of action and violence. [Full review in Spanish]

First leaked review

That review is spot on. It takes an hour just for them to die then another 30 minutes to sort of look like the Crow

I had to watch it, watched the Crow many times as a kid. I’m going to say Spoilers cause I’ll give a plot point away.

Reviews are right, they spent so long developing a story when everyone just want to get to the action. Too much build up for what we already know happens.

The one touch I didn’t mind was they have a form of purgatory where he is made aware of his powers and why he is who is, honestly that set looked good for the movie.

The extra added spiritual aspect of the story was too much. The first reveal of it was a turn off. More conversation were had in the original, especially while he is trying to find the others. This felt more John Wick style, crank up the music and fight.

Lastly, it took way too damn long before he actually gets into the Crow character. It’s like he played this unconfident detective for 85% of the movie who wins fights on accident. The original he just went after people, knew who he was and fought without hesitation. The casting worked the over thinking it writing didn’t.
