Yes.

Have you or anyone else noticed that they stopped the earlier showtimes in their city?

I really want it but I usually go to movies prior to noon(10:30-11:00) and all the AMCs here recently stopped showing anything before like 12:30. Coincidence that they would take those times away? Always alot of people there at that time who would take advatage of movie pass
AMC still gets the full price of a ticket not sure why they'd change that

The app will tell you under your profile when your card ships. I agree that their communication could be better, though.

Negative. Mine has been saying it shipped every since I signed up. Still nothing.

Weird. Don't know what to tell you, in that case. You can also check the USPS website to see if you can get Informed Delivery in your area. Each day before theail goes out, they scan it and email you all the letter-sized items. That's how we know ours were finally out for delivery.

Does it work for IMAX or Dolby Cinema showings? If so it's almost criminal how low the price is

Nope. Does not include IMAX or 3-D.

Could you theoretically pay the difference to upgrade a ticket?

no because they'll know you bought a 3d ticket

I mean, with IMAX there is nothing stopping you from ordering a regular ticket and walking into an IMAX movie at the same time. Right?

Something odd happened last night. MoviePass showed that a Dolby Theater showing at AMC was available on the app (it was highlighted, unlike the 3D and Imax movies). When we bought the tickets, there was only enough money on the card for a regular feature. So we had to pay a buck extra out of our pocket.

I still haven't been in a Dolby movie at amc. Is it an IMAX movie? 3D movie? What's the deal? Just curious

I guess it depends on the theater. In Nashville, IMAX theater here is reserved seating.

They show an example prior to the movie, claiming that it's sharper and with deeper blacks.

The audio is louder, deeper, and the seats actually shake during the bomb blasts.

Theoretically, you could select a regular showing of The Emoji Movie on the app, then use the card to pay for an Imax showing of It. The cashier would tell you how much you need to pay to cover the difference.

You'd be taking a chance that MoviePass would catch it and kill your account. But, I've had the cashier ring up the wrong movie when I bought tickets, and MoviePass didn't do anything. If you make it a habit, I'd expect to lose your membership.

It's one of the reasons that they temporarily asked some members to take pictures of their ticket stubs.
