i think it was a pretty good start to a series
a couple bad cgi scenes
some dialogue was bad and Daniel Wu was cringy
the plot was kinda standard but had a neat "twist" at the end
entertaining couple of hours

I hope it ignored Laura’s character bc I have no idea who that is. Lara is the main character in the video games and movies.
OP, if you have played any of the games especially the new reboot games, you will enjoy the film. I think Alicia did well. Not over the top with CGI. I wish they would have stayed closer to the new reboot of games. Music in the movie seemed a little off and not the right tone for the scenes at times. Trying to make the action and scene better with louder music when they just needed a little less at the time to make the scene have more of an impact.

It was ok. Bad dialogue, bad dad pet nickname, awkward dad and daughter sexual tension, nice grunts and squeals from Lara action scenes, gravity is optional and cgi created tension is never actually tense.
All in all could have been better and it could have been worse.
Also negative points for not showing more skin like our previous Lara. My eye candy needs to take off the wrapper on occasion.

I actually managed to enjoy it for what it is. It actually did some things pretty well. It's nothing amazing, but it's definitely worth seeing if you have moviepass.

It beat out Love Simon but lost to Black Panther. Common compliant was the actress was not hot enough to portray Laura or lost the sex appeal, probably to avoid the male gaze.

Dominic West just has a creepy vibe about him. He looks like the guy at the mall staring a bit too much.
Vikander and Goggins were both passable as heroine and villain. Daniel Wu was a miscast.
All in all I found it to be worth the effort of seeing it.

i said this on the thread from this weekend, but it was decent. less campy and cheezy than the Jolie ones in the 90s/00s.
my one complaint was that her squeal/grunt was awful and grating on the nerves. that sound editor should never get another gig as long as they live.
