It's not about intelligence. It's about common courtesy. People don't like to read walls of text because it hurts the eyes. It's so much easier to read long posts on a message board that are in block format.

Block format is typically used for business letters. I would hardly call a treatise on the parallels of a porn movie and a cable tv show something that invokes a business letter format. If you started reading, got to the end of the first several sentences, noticed the long space then another group of sentences beneath it, yet suddenly got so confused, flustered, or offended by the lack of courtesy (because there was no double space) that you couldn't comprehend that a new paragraph started...I just don't know what to tell you. If your eyes are so sensitive that you actually suffer physical pain from the lack of a double space, I suggest you see an ophthalmologist with the quickness.
This is just a wild guess, but....you're a millennial, aren't you?

Actually, Max made me wish it was the old porn film. She has surpassed the aging Halle Berry as the hottest African-American to ever grace this planet.

Um...it was a Pirates of the Caribbean parody

Irrelevant, because it preceded this series. And making a porno that has pirates in it, while certainly cashing in on the resurgence in pirate popularity spawned by PotC, does not make it a parody. A parody follows a similar storyline to what it is parodying or imitates it in some more specific way. There are several PotC parodies, but Pirates isn't one of them. If they intended it to, they failed. It doesn't meet the criteria of a parody.

A quick visit to a news article or political commentary on websites such as CNN, FOX News, and the New York Times would quickly reveal that block formatting is used in other writings besides business letters nowadays.

Why? Because it's easier to read on a computer screen, where close spacing, combined with the light from the monitor, hurts the eyes and can cause headaches.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm nearly 30 and I would feel uncomfortable watching this with my parents. Especially if they compared it to the porns they watched.

You snowflakes are something else. I can't even imagine what a daily struggle life must be for you with such harsh conditions
Do your eyes need a safe space after being subjected to the horrors of my non-block form post?

Please never watch the first season of Rome. The acting was quite penetrating.

It's funny seeing a guy desperately trying to make himself sound right when he wrote the words

You probably can't as I deploy on fast attack nuclear submarines for a living.

I hope the instructions are double spaced.

I guess it could be worse - you could be on a slow attack nuclear submarine.

It depends. On paper they're formatted in regular MLA format. On the computer...they're formatted in block.

Yeah...no. It's much more desirable to be stationed on a SSGN or SSBN (aka "slow attack nuclear submarine") because they have more space and living conditions are at a somewhat tolerable level.

The fact that you snowflakes are bitching for 2 pages that you can't read 4 paragraphs because they are not double spaced is simply mind boggling. I'm damn glad I'm old enough to be a dad and not a member of snowflake nation.

Any sixteen-year-old pimple-faced brat can be a dad. The fact that you're carrying on like a boy who just lost his virginity tells me that you aren't as far removed from the "snowflake generation" as you would like for us to think.

Or you could be aware that when something is formatted to "left indent" (auto on this site), it is proper to use double space for paragraph breaks.

This is a prestigious message board. Have some pride in your work.

You'll catch on.

You're having a melt of epic proportions because reading 4 short paragraphs "hurts your eyes", yet I'm the one carrying on?
If you're our line of defense, God help us if the Russians don't double space their missles.
