I reread the pertinent part of the book over the last week. I think they can get as many seasons as they want out of this, which is encouraging.

I think it’s because, as others have alluded to, that the book material is not as lengthy as ‘A Song of Ice & Fire’.
For instance, the timeline between the first and second episode is already 6 months time.
