It started the moment Viserys chose to break law and tradition for his child once instead of changing the law of Westeros.

I thought Balerion was bigger than her and a wild dragon named The Cannibal was the biggest that ever lived. I know he's I've during this period. Does anyone know who was the dragon Daemon was singing to?

I think he is trying to get them ready to be claimed. Who better for that role than someone who already holds a dragon bond?

Based on how the show writers have set it up, I’m thinking they’re going to have him try and get his dragon-less daughter on Vermithor.

It’ll be a little silly if they use the song as the connection to make it happen.

Safe bet is Vermithor since it’s in a man made lair.

I think the poster means dragons alive. No clue about Cannibal, but Balerion was the biggest dragon but is dead.

Its crazy he said dreams didn't make us kings dragons did. I just watched a youtube video that basically said Dragons and Targaryen's only worked together like they did as long as it was all building torwards the long night. Once they stopped passing on Aegon's dream and only used the dragons for their own glory it was over

To be fair to Daemon, nobody outside of the King and the next heir knows about Aegon's dream about the Long Night.

That's also a show invention to this point, but likely one that is canon considering Martin started talking about it like 5 years ago.

Where are the Blacks going to find enough riders for the dragons?

I have to give the show credit. I’ve read the books several times, have a rough understanding of the size differences in the dragons, but this episode put it in better perspective that I had ever imagined.

You don't technically need riders. Think about Danny using her three dragons.

Arrax looked like an ant compared to Vhagar

However, I also am assuming Arrax, and even Vermax, arent full grown dragons yet

Some quick notes from the Inside the Episode on HBOMax:

- Miguel S. (director) meant episode 9 and 10 to in essence function as one episode. 9 is Alicent’s story/perspective and 10 is Rhanerya’s.

- Part of the focus on the stillbirth was the representation of the war that’s “literally tearing her apart” as part of the larger one building in the realm.

- Emma D’Arcy has some great commentary on the whole push and pull between her and Daemon. He wants the Hightowers to be fricking dust for their betrayal and she just wants to hold the realm together.

- Rhaenys is 100% Team Black (per the actress). But she was hesitant until she saw Rhaenyra’s restraint.

- The directors give the impression that Aemond had only intended to bully Lucerys and that was a little bit of the “boy” still in him but that now that the shite’s done he’s going to have to be a man and own it.

Yeah they are babies. Drogon from GOT is way bigger than their dragons and he's still 1/3 the size of Vhagar.

Great episode….not perfect but definitely a solid finale to a surprisingly very solid season 1. Sets up everything nicely for the next season.

I avoided all spoilers, by the hardest, and went into this open-minded.

- I was suspicious and concerned about Rhaenys not bowing to the queen, and seeming to hold back in her support of Rhaenyra, but I think that she is very much the voice of reason here. (She probably would have been well-suited as queen herself.) She is watching everything Rhaenyra does to see how she handles this situation. She has already seen what the Greens did and knew she wanted none of that. I think she was pleased with Rhaenyra's restraint and that confirmed her ideas about supporting the blacks. Then when she and Corlys got on the same page...full support.

- I was not pleased with Daemon's choking of Rhaenyra, but what needs to be remembered is that while he does love her, insomuch as he can love anything other than a dragon, he IS a psycho. People saying that Aemond is like Daemon but psycho...have you forgotten his slaughter of the Crab dude and others in the Stepstones? He is a psychotic beast when it comes to war of any sort. He would totally have sent Otto back to Kings Landing in a box, and I wish he would have. Rhaenyra is the only person who has even a chance of controlling him, but even that only goes so far. He got passed over as heir himself, now be damned if he is going to be robbed of this. He knows what he would do and how, and any modicum of restraint infuriates him. She did make a note to self...hm, he will go upside my head.

- Aemond knows he fricked up. He is an evil nut, but also young enough to mess things like this up and go too far. This was almost like a continuation of the pig, the fight where he lost his eye, the toast...it just keeps getting further and further out of hand and now the consequences are far-reaching. The fact that he is not happy with the chaos he knows his fricking around will produce shows some sense.

- Mr. Ladygoodman (Mangoodman?) does not watch the show but saw the last five minutes. Before Emma even turned around he said "She mad. It's on now." She did a great job in those few seconds. You could see the sinew stiffen before you ever saw her face. And her expression...nailed it. So now Daemon gets the fierce war he wanted. She is lucky to have an animal like him to go to war with her.

- bullshite that Alicent doesnt want Aegon to be king. She always did, but perhaps had some allegiance to Viserys, Rhaenyra, and what she knows is right. When she misunderstood Viserys, that was the go-ahead she needed. She was not happy that all the plotting was done without her knowledge, but I dont think for a minute she was unhappy with the outcome. I think she does not want to see Rhaenyra arbitrarily killed though, due to their past, I guess.

I enjoyed the episode. Not the greatest overall, but there were some great moments. The table is awesome. The shots of Vhagar in shadows and relief behind Arrax during the storm was cool. Emma at the end -- amazing. The score was great. It has been so good the whole season, imo.

Two years? No way. NO. WAY.

Odd thing is that Drogon and the dragon killed tonight should be roughly the same age.

A few years old when we saw him before the 6 year time jump verses 8 or so years (maybe less) in GOT.
