One twist I wonder about… do we see Laenor eventually return?
So, that's a good question as the show deviated from the books when it comes to Laenor. I don't want to say too much as it may wrap back around to some other things tied to Laenor in the show. But I don't think we honestly know what'll come of Laenor or if he'll just ride off into the sunset so to speak.
I was talking to the wife about this the other night during our rewatch. I have the dang book under the coffee table
I want him to come back, because the Sea Snake kinda still believes they had something to do with his death even though his wife said they don't.
IDK but I liked him too, and Daemon did mention Seasmoke being riderless. One of Daemon's daughters still doesn't have a dragon right? I can't remember the book, so I don't know. I hope they bring him back.

You need to take that question to the non-spoiler thread, if there is one yet. This thread is not for non-readers if you don't like spoilers.

I’ve been rereading Fire & Blood. It was genius of George having 2-3 “sources” all through the Dance. Allows the show writers to pick what “truly” happened

***Book Spoilers Ahead - Look Away***
The HoD Season 2 cast listing has Clinton Liberty as Addam of Hull and Abubakar Salim as Alyn of Hull. In the books they were allegedly Laenor's bastards from the Stepstones (which was obviously debated due to Laenor's preference of laying with men). Addam in the books claims Seasmoke.

Yep, there you go Belle, that's right. Without the book near me I couldn't remember the all the "dragonseeds." I remember Nettles most of all. Even though the book is a foot away from me at home I don't pick it up
I told my wife she should. How many actual pages is this story in Fire and Blood? I feel like it's 20-30 pages, but I could be way wrong.
At the end of the wedding episode with Laenor they have a rat licking blood, and I explained to the wife that is clue to what I believe happens in episode 1 of S2.
The trailor already shows Aegon screaming he wants revenge, so that has to be it.

Definitely. It’s not all F&B though. Read The Rogue Prince and The Princess and the Queen as well. The two novellas are the basis of much of seasons 1 and 2, and maybe 3 depending on where the plot lines fall.

I’m just happy they deciding to include the whole lot of characters as opposed to combining them like in GoT.
I’ve also come around to the choice to make the Velaryon’s black. It really helps with differentiating between the Valyrian families for the Hodors

Can someone post the best summary video of the first season for me to show my wife? She won’t rewatch the whole thing
Posted on 6/11/24 at 9:13 pm to Draco Malfoy
I don't have one/haven't seen one. But HBO is pretty good about putting out a season recap video on the app prior to a new release. I would check there or on HBO's media accounts prior to the premiere.
They are also good (possibly too good because it often indirectly spoils things) about including a recap of prior season in the "Previously On" segments that they air before the cold open/intro music.

I posted this in the other thread too. Youtube ALT SHIFT X. His videos are really great IMO. He'll do recaps of each episode and the seasons. Seriously, they're really good.

Have a link? I only saw his episode recaps

There’s a 3 minute recap on the Max app.

Yeah, I mean if she burned all the Greens the story is over anyway right?
I agree which is why busting through the floor instead of using the door was dumb. She can't kill the greens because the whole show id about the war so why put her in a position where she can end it all and have her not do it? It just makes her look weak or stupid and makes the show look dumb.

You can kinda tell in her face she was debating whether or not to attack them. She looks super pissed for a second and then decides to leave it be and scare them with a growl. Maybe she had every intention on killing them all when she got to her dragon and changed her mind.

The episode title is "A Son for a Son".
Yes, that will be it.

If there is anything one should know by now about this universe, its that killing a handful of people at the top will absolutely NOT end it all.
All of these people have families, houses, vassals, etc. who are not going to just stop because their head of house was killed.
Plus, we are going to find out relatively soon how the public in Kings Landing reacts whenever dragonfire is used too liberally by the Targaryens---black or green
