This film has two goals.
1. Make Porn Mainstream.
I'm not sure I see that. They might argue that porn is fairly mainstream but I don't think they argue that is a good thing.

2. Make sure the Porn Actress are paid a lot more significantly like real actors.
I think they do argue that the actresses are not receiving a lot of long term benefit or a lot of money - but my recollection of the film was they correctly showed most of the people making small porn films are not making a lot of money either. They didn't seem to really touch on the male actors generally receiving a lot less money than the women in this industry. What to make of that is a separate issue worth at least considering.

Do they have the money? The small time players don't seem to.

if porn wasn't profitable there wouldn't be any...
the producers are making good money
the talent is making what the market dictates

I saw Alli Rae at the very end. She stood out amidst a gaggle of whores.

My inclination is to agree that some parts of the industry must be doing well. It is striking that some of the soft core porn empires like playboy seem to have fallen from that sector. With respect to hard core porn like that featured in the documentary I feel frankly ignorant of exactly how much money there is in what parts of the industry.
Assuming that things only exist because they make money isn't a completely safe assumption IMO. There seem to be a large number of people so desperate to be viewed as sexy that they will pose nude or perform public sexual acts without receiving money in return.

and therein lies the paradox for feminists
they gag at the thought of an industry being dominated financially by women due to their sexuality being the spark for that advantage
so the response is to demonize porn and try to guilt those who partake in porn b/c they can't win the war of ideas outwardly
hence, this documentary

Isn't the Internet about clicks? I imagine those free sites are making tons of money
And I figure the money trickles down they get plenty of content from the pay sites
On the feminists well if your bitching about salary build your own company and pay what you want

pornography is a multi-billion dollar industry
look up the estimates of internet traffic for porn sites, it will boggle your mind
the typical actress will make 1500 bucks or so for a "scene"
figure another 5 or 6 grand for production, and 5 or six scenes and you've got 15k or so in a movie. It is insanely profitable, which is why there's so much of it. The big producers make tens of millions of dollars a year

do the sites make most of their money from advertisements or from subscribers?

Prostitution needs to be legal.
It would put an end to the fat chick problem this country has. I'f I can get one of these whores for a reasonable price and not risk arrest. Then screw taking home the fatty. If they want attention they are gonna have to put some work in and drop some weight to compete In the free market.

I think the girls should be paid more, no question about it. It would benefit everyone but a huge benefit would be higher quality girls will be enticed to do porn.
I won't see the doc bc it looks like a total waste of time. Could have been very good but seems aimless.

There is a documentary on Netflix about brothels in Bangkok, it was pretty good.
