1. Don't be afraid of the Dark (1974).
2. The Exorcist
3. Amityville horror
4. Rosemary's Baby

Also, there was a movie where a witch cursed these three young men and they died separate deaths. I can't remember the film.

The Exorcist when I was 4 or 5 years old. I was scared of the dark for years after that. I still jump for horror movies but I dont get nightmares anymore.

I like good horror movies but I seldom watch them because there arent that many good ones being put out. The Conjuring 1 & 2 were good.

Paranormal Activity seemed fake to me. I like to see monsters and blood curdling screams.

I wont let my kids watch them because my daughter is already scared of the dark but she would watch any of them if I let her.

Tales from the Crypt always had the best tittays.

I remember being scared of Silver Bullet and the first 2 Alien movies.

*Nightmare on Elm Street was probably the worst, Ill still get nightmares about being bogged down in goopy stairs trying to get away from something.

Gremlins.

Saw it once in the theater as a kid. To this day I have never watched it again. I refuse.

I think what truly disturbed me is that everyone thought it was funny. The movie was about these horrible, evil creatures, and people were cracking up laughing.

That really messed with my head.

Not really a horror movie...listed as a drama, but when I was about 7 or 8 I watched a movie called Strait Jacket with Joan Crawford. She chops off the heads of her husband and his mistress while they are sleeping in the very first scene. Very shocking in the late 60s, early 70s and definitely freaked me out.

Very young...Killerdozer
A little older....Westworld
The one that still freaks me out today...The Exorcist
