Ok so my local library had none of the movies that I wanted to check out (which isn't really surprising, I mean it's a library). Aside from purchasing the movies or streaming online, my other option is just to go to the blockbuster down the street. Whaaaaaa??? those still exist!? I know, that's what I thought too until last week when I saw it. I was shocked. What are the odds they might have some?

Amazingly, 3 of these were 'attempted' to be remade, and they are all monumental fails (IMO):

The Birds Oh good grief....

Psycho (insert two actors into the same background) Why ?????????? Vince Vaughn???

Rear Window (although it does have a modicum of suspense)

Glad you're getting shadow of a doubt. Very underrated, you don't here people talk about it when discussing some of his best movies.

Shadow of a Doubt was Hitchcock's favorite of his own movies.

When I went on my Hitchcock movie watching marathon, I rented them all from a Blockbuster. Just call them and give them a list of what you're looking for and ask if they have them. That's what I did when I was looking.

If you've never seen these then I envy what is in store for you. I could watch Rear Window and North by Northwest every day.

Agreed.

I love me some Dial M. I always avoided it because I didn't like Ray Milland. Big mistake. Great movie.

Rope was interesting.

I am not a fan of Vertigo. The ending had some truly terrible directing. We can talk after you see it.

I need to watch a few more of his movies. Maybe a mini Hitchcock fest this weekend.

I'll bump this thread as I watch and we can discuss them. I'm pretty pumped waiting for them to come in. More pumped than I've been in a while actually.

Dial M was on last week sometime, I believe. I only caught the very end, though. I would have taped it. I'm going to watch for some of them and do that.

I highly recommend this. And, always remember to look for Hitch's cameo in the movies.

Just checked Amazon Prime and there are several I haven't seen on there. Netflix on the other hand stinks. Almost zilch.

Think Netflix only had Lady Vanishes and Murder.

He was in several good noir thrillers in the 40s. Ministry of Fear, The Lost Weekend(Great Movie), So Evil My Love, The Big Clock & Alias Nick Beal.

As a youngster, I saw him in Man with the X-Ray Eyes and just never wanted to see him in anything again. The Thing with Two Heads didn't help matters.

Oooooooooooh snap yall, I'm back in the game.

Went back to the library for lunch today, and this time I asked the guy if they could look up movies by director. I told him hitchcock, and he said they have a bunch of em. I said I came in yesterday and didn't see any of the major titles I was looking for under their alphabetical section, and he said "oh well we have a special hitchcock collection, they're all found at the beginning of the As"

So I ended up getting NbNW, strangers on a train, and vertigo. I was really wanting to get rear window but it was out. So I figure that'll give me a good starting point anyway. Any recommendations for which order I should watch?

Rear Window started about 15 minutes ago on Encore Suspense. I'm taping it. Hitchcock Hour comes on tonight and I think there are some other movies on the next few weeks. I'm looking so I can tape them.

ETA: Here's a schedule of Hitchcock movies over the next two weeks on TV.

Really. Didn't know that interesting little titty bit. That one I have recorded on DVR. Watched it two days in a row.

I watch the Hitchcock Hour that comes on every night on ch539 (forget what station that is) every once in a while. The dude hated him some commercials apparently. Almost every episode he makes a joke at the 30 minute break that was originally there. Ch539 doesn't run commercials in it though. So it's a brief moment of him complaining about going to commercials then it goes right back to the show

I see the Hour show on Encore Suspense Channel. Vertigo comes on regular encore early Monday morning.

Rebecca will be on TMC on April 17 at 11:45 pm.
