So this is fake news. It's more likely that Affleck is done for a number of reasons and even that hasn't been announced. It's more than likely posturing. Cavill has proven he can work in other movies so he's telling WB that if you don't want to get me in some movie as Superman rolling, then you're not my priority in terms of work. Most of the big name MCU characters have to work their schedules around their Marvel obligations and Cavill is telling WB that won't work for him.

With all of this speculation, WB has plenty of proof that the public loves Cavill as Superman. They need to pay him what he wants to hold onto him.
I will 100% be on board with a MOS 2 that moves in a completely different direction than what the Snyder universe has set up. I don’t care if they drastically change everything - it was shite anyway, and Cavill can finally play Superman the way he’s meant to be played.
Just bring in someone who knows the damn character.

I guess you can read into it that he is still saying he’s gonna be Superman, but it’s definitely ambiguous enough that it could mean anything.
So I don’t know what Cavill accomplished by posting that other than puzzling viewers.

Then why not just say that? Between what warner brothers and Cavill said and did, I think he is done or trying to get them to actually make a movie with him. At this point they have more movies in production with Harley Quinn(3) then they do with the face of DC in Superman(0). shite like this is why it's next to impossible to take the DCEU seriously.

Possibly because Warner doesn't want to repeat their mistake of laying out a set 10 year plan and then having to abort as soon as they have a huge setback. They have plenty in the pipeline now. It looks like they were actively trying to use Cavill in Shazam but his schedule didn't fit. From what we've seen of Shazam, Cavill's history as Superman plays a big part in Billy and Freddy's view of superheroes. WB may be at the point where they want Cavill but are waiting out Aquaman and Shazam to see how they'll use him next.
Better to keep Cavill as a utility player instead of forcing him into another Superman film after his last three weren't home runs.

The following have been announced over the last couple of years: Batgirl, Joker & Harley, Joker Origin, Suicide Squad 2, Flashpoint, Nightwing, Justice League Dark, Birds of Prey, the Batman, Man of Steel 2, Cyborg, Green Lantern Corps, Black Adam, New Gods, Gotham City Sirens, Lobo?
My point is that if you contrast that to Marvel, most of the movies they announce get made. DC just announces a shite load of movies that will never get made and has made me lose my faith in them.

So you picked one movie? They've definitely announced all those others with TBA for the dates. I don't want DC to suck and make bad movies. I'm just pointing out they are creating some serious apathy. I get that they compete with Marvel and that's why they announce these to get some buzz. The problem is that the fans just don't believe them.

This bugs me as Supergirl always arrived on Earth second, so her being aged up was usually a stasis thing from the Krypton city/colony escape.
