That show has midsession replacement then shitcanned written all over it

Then again Fox seems desperate for content. They picked up This is Fletch and that show is TERRIBLE

Really mediocre show. I only watch it because I like Vella Lovell.

We watched the first 3. Joel has a pretty funny schtick, but it wasn’t enough to keep us interested.

The Soup was brilliant, but McHale has to be the most insufferable prick in Hollywood based on his track record for getting shows canceled. He's practically Ted Mcginley at this point.

This. He really does seem terribly unlikable.

I want to like him, but he was almost the worst part about the crime scene kitchen.

He has a stand-up special on Netflix or Prime from 2016 where he really lets his premium-grade douchebaggery flag fly.

The first half of the season the show felt lacking. I couldn't put my finger on it, it just wasn't as funny as you'd expect considering the sum of its parts. The last several episodes it felt like it's hit its stride.

Sometimes it just takes time to establish characters. Like at first, Joel McHale antagonizing his new partner just made him seem like an a-hole. Now that we've gotten to know his flawed character better and Shred being a genuinely good guy has done a lot to humanize Joel, it feels a lot more like brotherly banter than an a-hole being mean.
