The choreography for the bar scene was impressive.

Indeed it was. The choreography throughout was. At times some of the dances felt too modern, but overall it was impressive

Didn't realize I just watched a movie about a vampire

The events the movie are based on actually predate the Civil War. Lind's tour for Barnum was 1850-52.

I really enjoyed how they took the plot from the cartoon Sing and made a live action movie.

Can you give some examples of the style of showtunes music they were singing in the mid 19th Century?

And that movie is just awful. No way it took more than a day to shite out that script.

Music is the best part of the movie, if they focused on the real story of Barnum it would suck, dude was an a-hole.

I watched this this morning. Taking everything out of consideration, I thought it was a very good movie. The singing was excellent, it was pretty visually great. Jackman looked like he was having the time of his life.

Now having known a little bit about the backstory of the character, I thought the honest trailer for this was hysterical. It was basically talking about how none of this is true, and the guy is legitimately one of the biggest douchebags of all time

The cast also did a live version of “Come Alive” on national tv essentially as a live commercial for the movie a week before it came out. It’s on YouTube. Pretty cool

Watched this last night with the family. What the hell is the deal with Hollywood making musicals where the music does not fit the movie? Here we are watching a movie set in the 1800s with 2010s era pop music. It does not fit!

My only regret is that I have but one upvote to give.
