Two pilots which I think should always be considered on Mt. Rushmore are "Eastbound and Down" and "The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret".

Even though I hate Lost, that pilot was awesome.
Ehh, couldn't keep the plane from going down.

Not saying it's the best, but the Supernatural pilot kind of blew me away. Had seen the show a few times before and wanted to start from the beginning. Was shocked at how riveting it was.

Firefly and Warehouse 13 both had really good pilots. They both hooked me.
Scrubs had a pretty well done pilot IIRC.

Cosby Show.
It was actually pre-tested on the USA Network a couple months before it aired on NBC. I got a phone call from a survey group asking how I liked it.
I never thought it would become the juggernaut that it was.

The Pilot for The Americans and Breaking Bad really hooked me.

Game of Thrones, not only the pilot but the opening 10 minutes of them in the forrest with the white walkers, still gives me chills

All good choices in this thread. I'm always partial to BSG. The Shield Pilot was outstanding, such a punch in the beginning. FNL and Lost were also both great. Cheers, also a great pilot, maybe Best of the Sitcoms.
I'd add Sports Night. Much like cheers there was just a ton of personality shown in that one episode. Just great stuff.
Futurama set up all of its rules very early, and I loved it. (A much better start than Simpsons). Not a GOAT, but should be in the discussion.

Agree 100%. The EB&D pilot is one of the funniest things I have ever seen. Him walking out the door shooting the double bird all triumphant and the old janitor asks the other "who the frick was that" with a cut to Kenny on the panty dropper ripping it up to Foghat(?) was epic.

ABSOLUTELY. Was coming in here to post that. EB&D's pilot is one of the funniet episodes of any show I've ever seen

Six Feet Under. Really laid the groundwork for all of the "stuff" the Fisher family would experience for the five interesting seasons to follow. Great show.
