Well they already killed the Dontos storyline, and its too late for her to build up trust with anyone else in a couple of episodes (other than a Tyrell, but that would drastically alter the storyline)...

...plus they don't even have to include the escape this season, just end with Joffrey dying and then start next season with the same scene and someone saying "Come with me" to Sansa. Problem solved. Her knowing about the escape beforehand isn't really important.

I'm wondering if maybe they used some economies of scale and maybe filmed all three weddings while they had the extras assembled. Plus, if the Tyrion/Sansa and Joffrey/Margarey weddings were both in the same hall (I can't remember from the books), then they could actually use the same set and everything.

In reality, I think I'm just kind of hoping to see Joffrey get his this season. I have my doubts they actually do it though. That's a lot of stuff to cram into two episodes.

I think they need male babies to make new walkers or maybe a special type of walker.

With Craster's male babies being the product of multiple incidents of incest, those new walkers may indeed be "special".

Not sure, but I don't think that's it. I believe that there is an equal and opposite force to the Red God that is driving the White Walkers and they sacrifice male children to it, or at least their bits.

That was one of the interesting things that was in the series this season. Varys talks about the sorcerer who castrated him and threw it into the fire (which I believe he said was BLUE) and that a voice answered out of the flames.

So was the Sorcerer perhaps worshiping the Others' god if it was blue?

And is R'hollor 'good' and the Great Other 'bad'? Or is it gray/not really explained fully yet?

This is what I think. They could end it with Cersei freaking out over Joff choking...maybe a quick shot to Sansa leaving the room

Even if Littlefinger didn't set all that up in the books, I think Sansa would have still hauled arse out of the wedding. All she needs to do is be intercepted. Maybe have Loras do the work this time and be knowledgeable of the poisoning.

I don't think it would that much, since we know for a fact that in the book that Olena and Margeary are already behind it. Loras has more reasons to hate the Lannisters in the show than in the book, and he's not a Kingsguard, which may be a big reason they didn't make him one in this iteration. Loras could easily intercept Sansa and smuggle her out of to Littlefinger.

Just a theory, but I believe that it's called "A Song of Ice and Fire" for a reason. To that, I believe that the powers of fire, including the followers of R'hollor and Dany and her dragons, will join to defend Westeros against the powers of Ice (the Others and the Great Other).

I also think that Dany and Jon end up ruling together.

Do we have a book theories thread? I would be curious to see what theories the other readers have about where the books are eventually heading.

We do indeed.

Eta: I just bumped it. It's the 344 page long one.

When I finished reading the series it was only about 200 pages. Reading that thread almost felt like I was reading another book in the series.

Damn, I was just thinking the same thing! Thanks for the bump, Psych!

I started reading when ACOK came out and have suffered through the long waits between books. The HBO series is awesome and helps fill the void, plus it adds a few different hints and twists that may foreshadow things in future books. I tried chatting on the Westeros site, but I've been spoiled by the TD format (plus the posters on there were worse than the Hodors). Didn't realize that we even had a movie/TD Board, only hit the Rant, Saints, Recruiting and Fark.

Glad this is here! I'll try to wade through the 344 page ASOIAF thread as time permits.

We know that they were involved in poisoning Joffrey, but I was under the impression that Sansa's escape was part of a separate Littlefinger plot (although now that I think about it I guess whether they knew about Sansa or not doesn't really change much plotwise...they couldn't reveal anything about her to anyone without revealing that they were involved in the assassination anyway).

The poison-stones-in-hairnet might be too complicated to pull off on the show anyway, having Loras/Olena direct her to Littlefinger when shite goes down would be sufficient to indicate to viewers that the Tyrells and Littlefinger were behind the poisoning.

Possibly Loras or whoever the dude is who is fricking him and reporting to Littlefinger about the Tyrell's plans (assuming he is standing in for Oswell Kettleblack who met up with Dontos & Sansa)

Regardless if the Tyrells were aware of this plot or not, I bet both Olena and Margeary know exactly where Sansa is. Littlefinger's absolute lust for Cat was no secret, and pretty easy to deduce that Littlefinger made off with her.

Think we could post that in the Middle Ground thread without them getting pissy?

Just watched, it's borderline but there are no direct spoilers. If it is posted, give a warning that it strongly hints at future events.

Then just don't post. So many are close to figuring it out, that this could just seal the deal.

It's from the official Game of Thrones/HBO website. No reason it shouldn't be posted in the Middle Ground thread.
