Wow. Arya's character arc is one of my favorites. I have gotten to where I anticipate her chapters the most. The next stage of her character development should be awesome.
I cannot wait to see where she takes us.

John Snow is my favorite. He has all the makings of a king, but so far he is stuck on The Wall. His wolf appeared to be the alpha males to all his brother and sister's dire wolves but nothing has happened yet in Book 4 that indictates a change in his position.

Exactly. Granted, I'm only on book 4 but exact who is the villian? I really hope the author draws a line in the sand and commit to something. Recently, there has only been meaningless chatter. I was hoping that book 5 would could the story but now that I find out that there are two more books, I'm really starting to wonder if the author is catering to the hit tv show.
These are complex characters he is developing. All of the characters have virtues and flaws. The different POVs recollections of the same events demonstrate that the heros and villains depend on your perspective. We know that Robert killed Rhaegar, but was Robert truly the hero? To some he was, but to others he was the villain. Martin leaves it to the reader to reach their own conclusions.

Yeah there is no hero, to many Eddard was a hro but then tell that to Balon Greyjoy.
Rhaegar may have been a better king that Robert if given the chance.
The more you look into the story, the more Robert's reasons for the war seem silly.
Though Ned having lost his elder brother and father to Aerys had a legit gripe.

The hell, someone kidnapping his fiancee is a silly reason for getting pissed? The war started when after having brutally murdered Ned's father and brother for complaining about the kidnapping, Aerys demanded Jon Arryn give up both Ned and Robert and he refused. Not like Robert had much choice at that point with King Crazypants on the throne and asking for his head basically.
