Maybe they don't have prenups in Westeros, Tywin has a lot more to lose than the last time he got married.
maybe that's why he married his cousin the first time around, keeping it in the family

Can a reader confirm wether or not Edmure and Blackfish are alive? If it's too spoilerish for something in the future just ignore this.

I'm not a reader, but after the Red Wedding, Frey bitched about Blackfish getting away, no? And he's keeping Edmure as a hostage.

In the show both are alive right now.

Answered just as well as a reader could. No more info is needed.

I was watching the HBO extras from season 3, and they showed the girl that Blackfish Tully was suppose to marry. Did they ever say what house his bride to be was from?

Edmure married a Frey, I didn't think the Blackfish wed.

He gave himself the name Blackfish (Tully's Blacksheep), because when he returned as a war hero, he refused to marry someone that Lord Hoster Tully had chosen. I'm curious to whom was he to wed.

Oh Bethany Redwyne of House Redwyne, they control the Arbor and are loyal to the Tyrells.
One of the richest families in Westeros.
The grandma who killed Joffrey is a Redwyne by birth FWIW.
also
Brynden somewhat rued his decision years later during Robert's Rebellion: House Redwyne controls one of the largest fleets in Westeros, based at the Arbor, and this could have been added to the rebels' side. Instead, the Redwynes stayed loyal to the Targaryens.

Even with that marriage I doubt it would have helped the rebels much. Grandma (Queen of Thrones) was married to the Lord of Highgarden. The Redwyne fleet was going where ever the Tryell's told it, whouldn't you think?

Are the redwynes still loyal to the targaryns?

House Redwyne is a major bannerman for the Tyrells.
'The Queen of Thornes' = Lady Olenna Redwyne

Nice.
Thread title updated for tonight. I'll be slumming it and watching on HBO go since I'm not at home.
