Lord Regent - Ser Kevan Lannister, Protector of the Realm
Grand Maester - Pycelle
Master of Whisperers -Qyburn
Lord Commander of the Kingsguard - Ser Jaime Lannister
Master of Coin and Lord treasurer -Lord Mace Tyrell
Don't forget, Mace Tyrell is also Master of Ships. I also believe Qyburn told Cersei in her cell that Ser Kevan is now the Hand of the King. The only two positions left open now are Master of War (which seems to have wholly been an invention of Cersei's) and the Master of Laws (what Renly was in Season 1).
Master of Laws is probably where they would put Prince Trystane.

Does anybody know what the actual budget is? Bc this is said in every thread. Seasons 3 and 4 both seem like they would have cost more.

Hi, not a book reader, but by the time I started watching the show, I had learned some book-stuff background. Nothing related to these questions, though:
Quick couple of questions, I might have missed the answers elsewhere:
1) who saved Shirreen from the Greyscale in the first place? Stannis said he was advised to send her to live out her remaining days in Valyria, but sought out every maester until he found a cure.
Was it Melisandre? That might explain why Stannis was so willing to listen to her in the first place, and would give him a little slack on burning her- in theory, Mel could bring her back; or maybe Shirreen was always living on borrowed time, and Stannis had to "pay up" in order to get more favor from the Lord of Light.
2) related Greyscale question- so Jorah has it, and he's now held Dany's right hand. And she used that hand to hold Missandi's hand.
Does this mean they both should have it, (via contact), or is it a maybe/maybe not (Stannis and his wife didn't catch it from Shirreen, and one would assume they touched their daughter a couple times prior to knowing she had it)?
Just curious, since the show has made specific emphasis on the greyscale issue recently, and now we are possibly getting hints about it spreading/being cured.
If there's no TV show answer about those questions, that will be an emerging subplot in the next season.

1) it's not really clarified who exactly figured it out, but It wasn't Melisandre
2) I'm pretty sure you only get greyscale from touching the infected area, but it does spread across the body
My biggest piece of evidence to support this is that there is no frickin way in hell that Dany is getting grey scale. Grey scale overall is pretty mysterious
In the books, another Mereen storyline is a airborn disease that is ravishing the country. It's possible that they are recreating that storyline with greyscale, but I doubt it
Grey scale has a role in a similar fashion as they've shown in the show, but it happens to another character that hasn't (and probably won't) appeared in the show

1) I think it was just a mix of all the healers they had brought in who eventually stopped the progression of the grayscale. I believe Mel didn't show up until later.
2) I'm thinking you have to actually touch the skin with the grayscale on it and not just the person anywhere. The stone men were dangerous because they are covered with the stuff and insane.
It has been a while since I read the books and the books and show are starting to merge for me, so if any other readers feel the need to correct me, I won't punish you too harshly.

I haven't even read the books, I just know way too much about everything after digging so deeply into all the theories which lead to me digging deeply into every major and minor characters book history

You should read them. You appear to have a little free time on your hands.

My roommate has the set, but he told me it's better to listen to the audio books

I'd prefer reading, but that's just me.
eta: Much better to throw a book across the room when something like the Red Wedding happens than to throw ipad/kindle/computer/whatever.

I'll probably do a little of both
Audio books on the way to work and stuff like that and then read when I get the chance at home

He's the one that begged me and my other roommate for months to start watching it last year
so you have him to thank for all my great GOT posts that I donate to the board every week

I believe in the book, Connington got it by merely reaching into the water to pull Tyrion (who didn't get it) out. I don't think anyone with greyscale actually touched him, he just had to submerge his hand into waters that were contaminated with it.

But why would Tyrion had not gotten it in that case?

Who knows, but he didn't. Maybe it is kind of like poison oak, some are more allergic to it that others? Or maybe Tyrion is immune to it or something.

Sounds like GRRM just got lazy

Thanks for the info
Tying it into the dragons, you get the impression fire has something to do with it.
If you follow the fire idea, we already know Dany can't be burned, and we also know Melisandre loves her some fire
, and since she's hooked up with the father of the only survivor (right?) of grayscale, that's where I wondered at her connection.
Looking at real-world connections, you get 2 potential inspirations:
leprosy, disfigures the infected person, historically viewed as a curse. If you go mythological, this could be a curse that is tied into the doom of Valyria.
and
scabies or mange, little parasitic critters passed on from another, often an animal, makes the skin "scaly". In this case, it could be dragon mange.
I'm just connecting dots that probably aren't there, but isn't that what we all do
?
It's just a little odd that the grayscale storyline is suddenly being inserted into the show, and guided directly to Dany (and her dragon). It makes me think there is a reason to do so.
quote:Yeah, it seems to be. I get the sense that it is going to be important later on. After all, this is a well-conceived storyline; I doubt a fatal disease that seems to be concentrated at the same place that the dragons came from is a mere coincidence.

My first thought as well.

I don't think grey scale is dragon or Valyrian related.
