Dayum!
Is the MG thread always this civil and devoid of bitching? I'm going to have to read this more often.
Most of the character omissions and combinations have been a net positive for the show. I know it was done to help keep costs down as well as consolidate the story line. Several omissions have been "addition by subtraction", but I would have loved to see Strong Belwas defeat the Merenesse champion in combat them take a huge dump in front of the whole city.
And the typical HBO gay agenda is coming through much stronger than in the books. Overall though, a great show. I know a few who prefer the HBO version to GRRM version and vise-versa. I like them both and just realize they are different.

Always
It's the antithesis of the other two threads

What gets me about the Hodor thread is that you and I both know that basically everyone in that thread has heard of R+L=J, yet they refuse to even acknowledge it. It's nuts really.

It's a really weird thing
I stopped posting in it until that got brought up again and I couldn't help myself

I try not to post in it any more. Although I couldn't help myself when someone was trying to say that Stannis' "fewer" comment was basically Stannis giving Jon his ships or something. Since no one caught on that he was just being a grammar nazi, I figured I's enlighten them.
But I'm not getting involved with any theories over there anymore, even if the fact that they are theories means they aren't fact, and thus not spoilers. Until R+L=J becomes accepted over there, I'm not even getting involved in those conversations over there.

Well once I got spoiled on the big thing that happens at the end of the books by a friend last week, I figured I shouldn't go in there anymore
Sucks but I'm thinking of becoming a reader now because of it

Might as well. I had the Red Wedding spoiled for me by my book reading friends. That's when I decided to become a reader. I knew then it was no use trying to avoid book spoilers since I had several friends that had read, or were reading the books.
It sucks though you got spoiled on that one though (and we ought to leave it there since it is a spoiler for this thread).

I hadn't heard of it since about two weeks ago and I've been watching GoT for over 5 years and post in the Hodor thread since that time, read a little about episodes online, etc.
Not really that hard to believe.

It's opened me up to be able to read all the crazy arse theories though, which have been almost as fun as watching the show has been

I started becoming a reader once I got spoiled on Tywin's death and another yet unseen character.

I guarantee that you were the exception and not the rule over there. Just about every conversation I ever have about GoT at work or with friends or whatever inevitably leads to R+L=J. It is the biggest driving theory of any show that I've known of since the Lost theory that everyone was actually already dead (which ended up not being true btw).
How you stayed shielded from it for that long is beyond me.

I actually go semi spoiled on that one but i didn't realize it
I watched the episode before the season 4 finale on couch tuner and there was a comment at the bottom that said "TYWIN DIES HAHA"
I freaked the frick out but then he didn't die that episode so I was like "oh I guess it was a troll"
And then it happened and I was like shite

Luckily those are the only two things I've been spoiled on from the books. Well, I know a little more thanks to the master thrread but oh well.

Any trolls target the Hodor thread as it is easier pickins.

Like clockwork - some Hodor just asked:
"so, who is the boy?" - in the Hodor thread.

Hey the Maesters thread isn't close to the Hodor thread

Agree - it's just spoiler stacked on spoiler - and a little crackpotty at times (I'm even guilty of that).
