I like to pose the question to my friends of who do you think is the most morally straight one on the show.. Its easy to say Robb or John but they are still kids
dany is the easy answer but look at her companions now. both jorah and barristan (sp?) are good candidates as well.
it's hard to choose kids, you're right or arya would be in the picture too.
tyrion is just about the perfect definition of a flawed hero. he should be total shite b/c of his family but other than the drinking and whoring (which c'mon who's to judge) he stands mostly in contrast to his family who is, in fact, shite.
that said, if you want to bet on families like horses in a race, the lannisters are a good bet.

They do have the money, power, and pedigree, though one of their big horses is missing a front foot.

i thought about that, but it was for poaching right?? straight arrow ned didn't let it slide.
i'm going by his actions just on the show so far. he seems respectful of different cultures and would do just about anything for dany. dany wouldn't have gotten this far without him.
all accts of selmy so far have been postive so far as his fighting skills, loyalty to the crown (save for joffrey b/c eff that twerp), and honor.
once again, probably opening myself up for some kind of book spoiler where he goes in and kills a village full of children but whatever...just going by the show.

It was for slave trading... The slaves were poachers.
And he fled to Essos in the book fearing punishment from the throne.
Book Jorah is much more infatuated with Dany than show Jorah but equally friend zoned.

Selmy sat idly by and watched Aerys roast Rickard Stark in his armor.
I'm not saying he isn't a great man but he's had his fricked up moments.

also maester luwin (sp?) the guy with the starks who was killed by theon's guys. the interpreter as well seems ok (short frame of reference now)
also can we just agree that everyone in Quaarth (sp?) was fricking shady?

so he's loyal then?
i know. he was serving his king though. i say that only because jamie did what many considered to be the right thing, but he isn't exactly revered for it.
i don't know as much about the backstory but that was really the thing that put the rebellion over the top, correct? (killing rickard) paving the way for robert?
edit: i know it was tywin trojan horsing himself and his men more or less as the thing that ended it.

Ok here's what happened.
Lyanna, who was betrothed to robert, took off with Rhaegar (same say kidnapped some say she went willingly). Brandon Stark rode to Kings Landing to get her back and rode into the keep yelling for Rhaegar to "come out and die". Naturally Aerys had him arrested. Aerys called for Rickard to come pay for the sins of his son. When he arrived Aerys roasted him in his armor and hung Brandon at the same time.
Aerys then told Robert Arryn to give up Ned Stark (RA's ward) in stead Robert Arryn called his banners. So Ned and Robert Baratheon called the banners of The North and the Storm lands. And this the war of Roberts rebellion began.
