Jaime in Harrenhall tonight wonder if we get to meet Qyburn. Pretty sure they discovered him when Rob was walking around the slaim northernmen earlier this season. Wonder if he has the same role.

I don't necessarily hate her, I just get really annoyed with her character. Probably because there is so much potential there for her and I think GRRM waffled quite a bit with her.

I'm in the middle of a re-read with a friend who is reading the books for the first time. We're part of the way through CoK's and he loves some Dany chapters. I have to resist the urge to tell him to enjoy it while he can.

I would be shocked if he doesn't have the same role. Someone has to make FrankenGregor eventually

I need to go back and rewatch that scene because I could've sworn the guy was saying that it was Qyburn who DID all the wrecking shite in Harrenhal. Not that the guy himself was Qyburn.

I could be totally wrong and just misheard.

Whenever I get to a dany chapter I really just skim it over. I love reading the kings landing and stark chapters to see what I can pick up about the red wedding.

Really? Does someone need to remind her or the crazy shite her family has done? They certainly all about honor and justice. Little self entitled whore.

Dany has very little knowledge of how Westeros works compared to where she grew up in Essos. Two different worlds, politically, geographically, etc. I think she's had her butt kissed her whole life and doesn't understand why her family was dethroned. Robert won it fair and square. The Targaryens did their own undoing with their intermarrying practices (making them crazy in terms of their gene pool).

quote:

In her defense, I wonder just how much she knows what her family has truly done. She barely knows anything about Rhaegar. And I imagine she was probably spoon fed a lot of bullshite in order to white wash everything for her.

This is probably true as well. Most of the people who housed her and Viserys had to have been Targaryen sympathizers.

My comments below also relate to the episode recap for tonight's episode, when they show Ned, Varys, and Robert together, and Ned says that Varys is bringing whispers of a traitor (Jorah):

I know that most of y'all know I'm a nonreader and will be until this summer . This is what I'm trying to figure out: as for Jorah, wasn't his whole deal with being Dany's advisor is that he was Varys's "whisperer" and provided Varys with information along the way? Did Jorah really sympathize with the Targaryens (I doubt that), or was he covering his butt, hoping he'd be pardoned from his traitor status in Westeros by providing valuable information to Varys and Robert?

no, he is a reader, just stirring stuff up. Let's let their discussions go on though. It ruins this thread to discuss theirs in it.

We should try to avoid that today.

I wish our guys wouldn't post in it, but that won't stop.
Just think the three thread system can work.

I'm not even bothering with blueboy this week. He admitted to knowing spoilers yet posts ridiculous crap to bait the nonreaders. He's the worst out of all the threads.

Well he reads all the spoiler threads for some reason. Whatever, no need to discuss in here, I just thought it was funny

Just my opinion, but he was trying to get back home to Westeros and that was an easy out for him. He didn't plan on falling in love with Dany.

He just wanted his lands back. He realized it was better to be a lessor lord than a sell-sword in the free cities.

I'd just leave him be at this point. He now has a list of people that he plans to spoil on Winds of Winter when he gets an "advanced copy" (why would you ever do that unless you've read all the books). Includes readers and non-readers alike. He's going to be shooting himself in the foot shortly enough at this rate so I wouldn't sweat it.

But would he get his lands back as a traitor? We know his father is dead and that his dying wish was for Jorah to join the Knight's Watch, right? So would he be able to both take the black and be a minor lord??

If he's pardoned by the King, the King can pretty well do what he wants. My guess is that was part of the bargain.
