Yep, agree. It's a McCarthy thing. Things aren't always wrapped up very well.

I love the ending, not that there was a lot of flexibility there considering they kept it fairly true to the novel

WTF? That movie had one of my favorite endings of all time, with the most perfect music accompanying the credits.

Mama. This one's fresh on my mind, it wasn't that

*Sperlers*

The little girl went with Mama, it was the Disney, saccharine way Del Toro stretched it out after a whole movie of genuine creeps.

Europa Report

I thought it was a pretty good, suspenseful movie up until the end with the reveal.

Go watch the alternate ending they almost used. It will piss you off that they got so close to using that.

1. That board is big enough for them both.

2. Throwing the necklace into the ocean was ducking dumb.

I might get crucified for this:

Blazing Saddles. Up until the last 10 mins was one of the GOAT. Ending... Not so much.

I thought the ending for Contact was fine. Nothing it would have done for that kind of movie would have paid off the concept, but I'm glad the movie had the balls to try anyway.

Here's another one I just thought of:

Unbreakable

Do we really need a postscript about what happened to Mr. Glass in a fictional movie? That was the lamest.

I've always thought that the original ending was much darker and truer to the spirit of the film, but didn't test well in focus groups or something so they changed it.

American audiences can't deal with movies where the bad guy wins. But you're right.

The corrupt system was the bad guy to me in that film. Gerard butler was the anti-hero.

I usually turn it off before the end now and imagine him carrying out his plan, like should have happened.
Jamie Foxx was a dupe in that film.

Completely agree. I hated his character and I wanted Butler to take him out and set off the bomb at the end.
