The Purge movies had so much potential.

The Abyss was great until the ending
Full Metal Jacket goes from tremendous to okay halfway through
From Dusk Till Dawn lost most of the style and became just a B movie after Salma Hayek turns.

Jeepers Creepers is always the correct answer here.

Killers of the Flower Moon

Had some great content in the book that just wasn't handled well on the screen. I think you give another director that billing and not tie it to Leonardo DiCaprio and you have a potentially great movie.

I wouldn’t even say it is good..maybe average, but there is a great movie in there somewhere.

The Counselor is a great choice. It should have been awesome and it was choppy and not good. Plot is there, acting is there, cinematography is there, but the movie isn't there.

Agree.
It was certainly better in basic training.
Sort of agree. It became more of an exploitation movie at that point that did not quite fit the rest of the movie.

I'm going with:
LOR: Return of the King: the bad cgi warriors coming to save the day could have been much better. I find this last installment the worst of the three, which sucks since it ends the series.
Watchmen: give us the book ending.

The Departed.

I’m in the minority on this but I absolutely hated the ending and it ruined what was an excellent movie for me up to that point. It’s still good, maybe even very good, but it could’ve been one of the greats if they hadn’t shite the bed with the ending.

First two thirds were great. Great acting. Great visuals. Soundtrack was amazing. Had suspense and an intriguing and original plot. Then it literally turns into a cheesy slasher flick out of nowhere in the third act. Probably up there with Full Metal Jacket as far as biggest fall from greatness in a single movie.

On a serious note, I loved the ending. But I could see how it would throw people off.
