I wasn't crazy about that scene. fricking your boyfriend's best friend and getting knocked up is not the equivalent of experiencing racism.
I agree with you completely but I wasn't trying to equate the two with my posting. I just found it odd they would allow the black character to assume a white character couldn't accomplish a certain feat, in this case being funky, simply because she was white.
This would be the same, and just as racist, as a white character saying a black character couldn't perform calculus because of his or her skin color.
As a rule Hollywood usually reserves the racism for white characters and I found this scene to be a welcome twist on the usual format.

Anyone else getting bored of this show? Beyond the musical numbers, it's pretty preachy and it's just getting boring.
My wife and I used to get excited that glee was coming on....now it doesn't bother us if we miss a night.

Never thought I'd see a TV show where a black character's overt racism was exposed. Of course they rehabilitated her very quickly but still its groundbreaking.

Dude. You totally missed the point. He was commenting on Mercedes insinuation that Quinn couldn't sing funk because she was white.

Are women still discriminated against because they are or can get pregnant? You bet your sweet arse.
Dude are you a virgin? If your not you shouldn't be so preachy about people getting knocked up. Unless of course, you plan on keeping it in your pants from now on.

All I am saying is that just because you get discriminated against for something you did doesn't mean you should go up to a person of a different race and go "Now I understand what you are going or have gone through." It just comes off as false and patronizing.

Preachy? I don't find that to be the case at all.

Right, she gets discriminated against but Puck's really not having to deal with that. It takes two people to frick and make a baby.
ETA: That's kind of her point and why she's pissed about it.

I didn't say her experience was false. I said the show shouldn't imply that the discrimination she experienced is the same as racism.

A) She experienced actual racism in the show.
B) She's now being discriminated against and has a better understanding of what it's like, even if it's not racism.

Personally, I remain unconvinced that white people can sing funk.

Listen to some Teena Marie. She can funk.

And just how much money does this glee club have to spend? In a mater of days they have elaborate costumes and the Kiss song is performed on a new stage compete with pyrotechnics. Just ridiculous.
The show isn't exactly created to be realistic..

I'm just now watching last week's episode so my answer may be revealed in the episode, but i DON'T UNDERSTAND JESSE!
On the previous episode, he didn't want to hurt Rachel because he cared about her and all. And then this one starts with him back on Vocal Adrenaline, hurting her.
I love Glee, but sometimes I wish they'd follow deeper into stories because I get all confused.

John Stamos is going to be the dentist that Emma starts dating. Pretty good casting in my opinion.
