There really were almost no likeable characters. Luke, Richard, and I got no one else.
Jess, Kirk, Taylor, Lane and all of Hep Alien.
Every character in that show – whether it was main, recurring or bit part – was written with incredible depth.

I despise about 60% of episodes and find the other 40% very comforting.
They made a lot of really, really bad decisions with Rory's love life.
Dean's character was completely rewritten twice over the course of the show, and he was a pathetic POS by the end.
They made Jess about 2 degrees too bad/misunderstood, and while his arc made sense, he had the best chemistry with Rory so them being kept apart would always piss off a portion of fans.
Logan was an awful douchebag with very few redeeming qualities, so having Rory pine for him like a lost puppy and choose to go back to him over and over made her look shallow and money-hungry. In aggregate the show makes Rory look like the complete opposite of Lorelai in all the worst, most unsympathetic ways.
Emily and Lorelai were the two best, and best acted, characters on the show. They wrote Emily so well, you always understood her motives, no matter how cold or cruel her actions were. They never settled for making her just a bitch.

And Sean Gunn was the town weirdo before being a space pirate.

Seasons 1-3 are tGOAT
season 4 is decent, season 5 is okay until they go full out rory/logan
6-7 weren’t great, especially 7. At least we get a couple Jess cameos in season 6.
The Luke having a daughter and lorelai/chris marriage was just weird
Best part of S7 was Olivia

Lorelei and Rory have the worst mother daughter relationship possible for a man.
It’s weird, creepy, and smothering.
There’s no way in hell I’d marry a woman who had a relationship with her mother like Lorelei/Rory.
And Lorelei is one of the biggest bitches and worst humans in tv history.

I like the episode where the mom gets fricked by Santa Claus in a hot tub.

I've not seen a single minute of this show. Nothing against it but as an older male it just didn't seem to be something aimed towards me. Do y'all think I should give a shot? I tried and liked Derry Girls, which pleasantly surprised me.

It’s a good show. Did you watch Mrs. Maisel? Similar fast pace dialogue which I know isn’t for everyone.
