so, it appears that if this is the opening scene:

- this ghost catch will cause the mayor, Walter Peck, to shut their business down because of property damage
- they close up shop temporarily
- in the meantime, Kumail Ali Nanjiani's character drops off an artifact to Stantz's bookshop
- they research it during the middle of the movie with Patton Oswald
- the big bad comes to life from the artifact
- they're allowed to reassemble due to NYC freezing over
- with the old cast's help, they defeat the big bad

that's all a prediction. seems simple. could be entertaining enough.

That’s all from the latest trailer. They showed it last night before we watched Dune 2

Or our last two presidents?

These guys were governors. Of real states. In our country.

How do you go from a tightly-written movie like Ghostbusters, featuring a snarky supernatural pest control service played by counterculture icons in their comedic prime...

...to yet another pure cash grab with an embarrassing cast like this?

Why don't we just go for it and remake the Blues Brothers' Daughters starring Amy Schumer and Melissa McCarthy, with a fresh, hip modern soundtrack and a Tesla?

Before I even get to the new trailer, I have to say, the plot, from what I've seen so far, makes no sense.

The idea that FEAR is what freezes you to death, fine. But they're literally being frozen. By COLD. Not 'fear'. Fear doesn't freeze water or create instant protruding icicles, that can impale you. That's not fear. That's impaling with sharp pointy ice.

This seems pretty damn basic. It's not ghosts that are doing this, it's Ice Giants!

Spitballing here, because I'm not that deep into this...

is "fear" providing the juice needed to freeze things? Like in Ghostbusters 2, all the negative emotions of the city powering Vigo via the slime?

That might some make sense, but for 2 problems.

1. It's been done before. Aforementioned river of slime under the city in BG-2.

2. From the trailer, the 'cold' is catching people totally unaware. They're enjoying themselves, on the beach, on amusement rides, going about their mid-summer day.

Then they see something coming. Unkown. It's corporeal. It exists. And only when they see what it DOES to the physical world does anyone then get scared. Fear is the result, not the cause of all this.
