If any of this is true we could be looking at the next Fan4stic.

The way some people openly root for movies to fail is weird to me. If something sucks, I won't go watch it, that's about it.

I have never seen Fan4stic and I probably won't be seeing Ghostbusters unless its reviews are north of 90% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Maybe when it comes to Netflix I'd give it a shot but I won't spend money on it

I have no interest in this movie whatsoever, but that was a completely useless video to watch. "An anonymous poster on 4chan"?

I believe this movie will fail, but whoever that "anonymous source" is probably doesn't know shite.

It's all based on one post on 4chan. Lol. The movie will be better than that YouTube clip

an anonymous poster on this very board nailed pretty much everything concerning Fant4stic and its production issues.

just sayin

also its interesting that the person who was apparently most pissed about the script supposedly being bad was McCarthy

Were they "anonymous"? Have they ever posted again?

They were anonymous in that they had no screen name or anything. They had nothing to lose.

I'm not saying they 100% are wrong, but we can't take those things to be creditable. No news site in the world would report that. Even the guy in the video said "take this with a grain of salt".

ETA: One anonymous poster getting something right does not then translate to EVERY anonymous poster gets things right. If that were the case, we'd have to believe everything posted on the internet. Yea, that's not going to happen...

actually, after a quick glance of that thread, I think the person dropping the info may have deleted their account and most of the posts in the thread.

only has 211 posts, joined in 2014, when you click the name it takes you to a "Stop" page.

Yeah...the author of the video says to take the information from the user with a grain of salt, but don't discount it entirely due to the similar way news dropped about the troubles with Fan4stic and a few other films.

The 4chan poster said that Sony was going to be going for nostalgia in their marketing one month before the trailer was released. That entire trailer was filled to the brim with nostalgia.

He might be legit and he might not. But we do have the Sony e-mails that reveal Feig wasn't happy with the initial treatment/script of the film and would only sign on if he was able to do it his way.

He really went out on a limb there.

When I see more sites reporting this, I might give it a little more credibility. At this point you have to call it what it is. One guy blabbing his mouth on the internet and a youtuber with a VERY low amount of subs.

I agree it should be taken w/a grain of salt fo sho.

One thing that seems odd is that McCarthy, Wiig, and Feig have all worked together and had success previously. On the outside looking in it would seem odd for those three to have such issues w/each other on set.

It could be just as likely the studio was the cause of much of the issues and it led to the film having a muddled tone. The rumors of actors and Feig being the problem could just be studio's astrotruf to deflect blame.

Or, it could just be some rando having fun on a message board.

The meh advertising is surprising though considering how it was supposed to launch a universe so at the very least it seems like Sony doesn't have a lot of faith in it.

Also, Feig and MM have always worked well together.

STFU troll. We can't voice our opinions? Praises are ok but when people criticize, they are always faced with "don't watch it if you don't like it".

The more people shows their displeasure, it will send messages to movie executives not to make half azz movies. It's called free market. Take your protected feelings somewhere else.

Voice your opinion all you want. I just prefer opinions after someone has actually seen something.

Sure it doesn't. Hollywood responds to box office. Very rarely do the buckle to elitist message board chatter.

I agree with you. However I think the issue with this money is how people feel they are kind of taking a shite on the originals whilst stealing the legacy. When I first hear it was all female and the make up of the ladies, I thought it would be this weird all the guys had daughters type legacy which would have been fine with me but they decided to go straight up reboot.

I think people want to send a message to the studio not to make or pull crap like this. Negative fan reactions and poor performance sends that message clearly and loudly. That way the studio can't make excuses if it doesn't perform well. It will be people hated the concept and that's it. Entertainment is like politics, make shitty movies, people don't go see it and studio loses money and then said people involved don't get to make more shitty movies. Just like politicians get voted out of office.
