I hear a lot of talk about this movie last year and finally watched it today. How in the world did this movie get such great reviews?

I would say that I typically understand why good reviews are written even if I don't like a movie but this one is beyond me

Better than E.T., Chariots of Fire, Close Encounters, Godfather?

99% - it is the greatest movie of all-time.

And now we have WAY more critics, online, off-line, bloggers, papers.

And 3 Rotten scores of 300?

Godfather has 2 Rotten scores.

Get Out is the only movie on RT in the entire history of cinema that can compete with Godfather in ratio to Rotten and Fresh.

In fact, Get Out beats Godfather.

Get Out is the greatest film of all-time.

Because more people realized it’s way more a comedy than a horror movie? ??

For fricking crying out loud, this question gets asked once a month at least. There was this same exact thread two weeks ago.

It’s incredibly obvious the OP is trolling. He isn’t offering why he didn’t like it. He’s just trying to cause controversy.

Two reasons. One reason is that its pretty good and the other reason is fairly obvious....

It's a good movie to get good reviews.

But almost nobody - in all the cranky nit-pick world or miserable critics who want to stand out - couldn't find a fault with this movie?

I mean it's gold standard now.

Or has reviewing just become shill and lazy. Nobody dares come out against a movie?

We saw it also with every Disney incarnation...total love from everyone. Puppet nation. One Love.

I dont think I have any kind of history of trolling posts here or basically any other board. I did a search and did not find anything recent on this movie. I had saw a good bit of great reviews on it and did not understand them after seeing the movie

Is that really so hard to believe? The movie was not garbage but it was not great either. I certainly can not see how it is rated as high as it is.

I thought it was a better than average movie with an original plot, a twist or two, and some funny moments along they way. It's not my Best Picture winner, but I recommend it to friends who can psycho-racially handle it.

It's been hashed to death on here before, but many people either misunderstand the Rotten Tomatoes % or pretend not to. A higher percentage of positive reviews does not mean that most or even any reviewers think it is a "better movie" than one with a lower % of positive reviews.

Subjective. Never read them. If the trailer piques my interest I watch the movie. If a family member or friend who's opinion i trust says I should check it out I will. People put WAY TOO MUCH stock in "critics" opinions.

Don't pay attention to him. Idiots tend to use a word they don't fully understand (trolling) to refer to anyone with a dissenting opinion. It's par for the course on tigerdroppings and especially this board.

FWIW I totally agree with you, it was entertaining but it wasn't as great as everyone led me to believe

I liked the movie a lot. I don't think it's worthy of Best Picture or anything, but it's a great mix of comedy, horror and social commentary.

As for the latter, I find it funny that the liberal media and critics who are praising and gushing over this movie are actually the ones the movie is making fun of.

Agreed, but I think Daniel Kaluuya is a really good actor.
