Did it really need confirming? I think it would have been arse backwards if Valyrian steel didn't work.

OK, that episode was fricking awesome. I dare to say the best since Blackwater. This season got off to one hell of a rough start, but it seems to be finishing gloriously.
It makes me sad Martin didn't do this with the books. The Hardhome battle is a quality change that should have been there. Just have him send Mance after "Arya" before he departs, and have the Battle at Hardhome. When he arrives back, he receives the Bastard Letter and finds out all the remaining men at Castle Black have been plotting against him to kill him over what he's doing at Hardhome, and then they kill him. Make Mel the POV character back at Castle Black to show what is going on there.

Oh i 100% agree it was fairly obvious, but it wasn't written canon yet.

Is the night's king the darth maul ya'll talking about.
They've retracted it being the Night's King, and personally I'm hoping he's the Great Other, so Stannis himself can become the Night's King.

D&D just called him the Nights King like 40 times in the inside the episode thing

That face off between Jon and the Nights King pretty much confirms that Jon is Azor Ahai (or at least a third of Azor Ahai). I know that isn't earth shattering news or anything, but for me it just confirmed it.
The look on the White Walker (and Jon's) when Longclaw didn't shatter was awesome.

I just realized after this season we will be banning together in a thread with the hodors.

They were both like "uhh huh?...Err okay"

That was deffinitly a remake of the battle at the fist of first men
For sure. I was so damn disappointed by that, but holy frick did they make up for it here.
Seriously, that may have been the best episode they've done. I was pissed at some of the changes earlier in the season, but I kept saying to myself "wouldn't it be nice if they changed this?" and holy shite did they surpass my expectations. That episode was fricking amazing.

The ultimate "come at me bro".
Seriously. You can't top that.

Doubtful.
Hodors are still allergic to book info, whether or not it spoils anything

Yea, if he's not the Night's King, someone needs to let D&D know.

I guess we'll just have to have a "dumbed down" thread

Yes. There's been a lot of emphasis in the lore about the swords. It adds a whole lot to why they're passed down from generation to generation in the households that have them. It's no longer just a monetary thing. It's a survival thing.

Hodors will continue to Hodor. Us being behind the show won't change that.

Well, HBO did briefly at least before the episode, so I guess that's out the window. I still want to see Stannis lead the Others south though.
