maybe not.

I was pissed that a movie thread spoiled a point for me.

I said "damn, that sucks I should post a TWD spoiler to even it out". Because I wrongly thought the offender was a TWD fan.

Coco jumps in the thread "Sure he can spoil it and if he does it would be a long timeout"

I then got a timeout for five days for unknown reasons.

I doubt it was that as I had RA's one of L.A.'s lame joke threads and think he did it.
I still think mods should be made known.

I also said someone should throw a bowling ball on top of riverside towing. IDK one of those three banned me for last week.

When people intentionally spoil things, they are usually suspended for a while...that's what I meant. Be mad at the admins all you want, but don't blame me for you being banned for something, especially when you don't even know what it was for (and neither do I btw).

Psych, you and Belle and Carson are a couple of my favorite TD posters, in general. Y'all aren't the big offenders. I was just trying to make the point that we're not exclusively worried about "spoilers;" I've even read some outside material without it ruing the show for me. But in this thread it's more fun if we stick to what's on TV.

The spoiler thing is kind of silly anyway, since no one knows exactly how the story will be adapted for TV.

Martin himself has said that he doesn't how everything will unfold on screen and that the book and show could diverge. He made that point during his talk at at A&M 2 weeks ago, which some of you might enjoy for a number of reasons: George R.R. Martin speaks at Texas A&M. There's a great part in that talk where he gives an example of the show creators influencing him to change a character in the books.

We'd just like to be able to discuss GoT the same way we discuss Mad Men. Talking about what happened and freely speculating about what might happen, based only on what we've seen on the screen.

Also, I would like to see Cersei nekkid.

I can understand that, and as a book reader I can't possibly join in that discussion. Which is why it is frustrating when my wife constantly asks me what I think is going to happen.

I don't believe Stu was trolling. There was a block of posts about Sam that got deleted for good reason.

not mad at you. More mad that we don't know who the admins are. So you could be one (and sometimes seem like on) and I would never know.

I have never seen a site before where the cops didn't wear badges.

I actually spend most of my time trying to bring peace to both sides in the conflict, hence my creation of the questions thread. Why is it I'm starting to feel like Andrea on TWD?

well, you're an idiot, because I was not intentionally posting a statement simply to rile up the massess - which is what trolling is

However, I have been around here longer than many of you. And I can tell when I make a post and 4 little giggling schoolgirls reply back-to back-to back that they are dancing around an issue that only one who has read the book would find humorous.

and low and behold, look who it is that has the last few posts in the book-reader's thread - same people. It's pretty fricking obvious they're playing around, and then there is a post by someone who admits to intentionally posting something to mess with those in this thread here.

all this said, and it's been stated, asked and repeated almost every week: Please do no do this if you've read the book. Yet, still some people are too dense to follow this simple request.

Plus he reads both threads.

and I dont read both threads, as someone who has not read the books, those threads are meaningless to me and I have no reference point. But I am able to scan through them quickly enough and recognize something is up.

quote:

Yet says no book readers should post in this thread. Hypocrite much?

as I stated, I didnt read the books, I am posting in this thread - you are illogically concluding that I have - I'm not a hypocrite, you however, may be an imbecile

I agree that the opening post in that sequence was over the line in its hinting, but the rest was just joking and my joke tried to bring the discussion back to what happened on the show.

eta: when people attack posts in threads based on who posted it and not on whether or not it is actually a spoiler, it only draws extra attention to the post in question, which makes people think it was a spoiler even when it wasn't.

The Sam shite was beyond douchey and those guys deserved to be called out. Other than that I haven't seen any issues jumping into spoiler territory. Attention to details and picking shite out is what makes these threads great. Think back to the Lost threads, realizing facts in the details is what makes threads following these shows exist. Might as well not have a thread if all that's gonnna be said is I love dany and ygritte is a slut.

People are just so hypervigilant now from all the times spoiler accusations are made, that even innocuous comments are being viewed suspiciously.

So you don't "read each thread" but scan looking for points to "RA".

So I illogically concluded you read the books, because you stated you read the book thread. I think you like using big words in posts but truly are not as smart as you think yourself to be.

He points to the same people being in both threads as evidence of a grand conspiracy to mess with the non-readers, while most of the posts are just two separate discussions occuring at the same time. Of course, if he was actually reading what was posted instead of just skimming and making assumptions, then he might know better.

People carry on simultaneous discussions across several threads on several boards every day here.

eta: For example, I have the last post in both the reader and nonreader threads right now, but the posts are entirely unrelated and part of separate discussions.

This is my whole issue, if readers are being obviously silly and joking around trivially it doesn't need to be spotlighted and made a big deal out of. Once those posts started being attacked by Stu and JB Bama guy then people started to think that there must be something to it, had that not happened it would have been completely glossed over and forgotten.

Too much blame has been put on Carson, Psych and Saints, my post is what started it and was probably crossing the line into doucheville and I apologize.

Interesting note, JB Bama is also posting in the book readers thread with obvious book knowledge. Draw your own conclusions.

I've read the books. Am I not supposed to be there?

No problem fouldeliverer. I also don't want people to post book info here, hence my efforts with the question thread, but it irks me when I'm accused of posting spoilers when I haven't.
