yeah, it is iffy.

Wouldn't Aegon have the greatest claim, though? He would be older than Jon and they would both be Rhaegar's sons.

The succession would be:

Dany
Aegon
Jon

Assuming they are all Targaryens

If Tyrion was legitimized bastard of the mad king, he would have a greater claim than them all.

I'm done. But I ALways respond when someone calls me out. Like in Back to the Future I would have to have raced Needles.

Having said that, I only wanted to discuss the show and was attacked for it.

Anyway.

I think the season has a great start. I am curious to see more of the unsullied. I like the fearless mindless warrior.
Also Arya is getting interesting.

Seems like they are hurrying the story up a bit though.

Dany's claim is not stronger than one of Rhaegar's sons.

Dany is younger than Rheagar.

Rheagar had at least one son and at least one of those sons is alive.

I am unclear on what Jon's status would be though. Even though both his parents would be highborn, he would still be a bastard since he was born out of wedlock...correct? So the way I see it:

Aegon
Jon Targ
Tyrion Targ
Dany
Jon Blackfyre/Snow

yes but we don't know if he was born out of wedlock or exactly what constitutes wedlock to the Targs

IMO he is a Blackfyre. Do we know when Connington found him?

yeah, that is my theory as well...that they just found a boy with Targ blood and similar age.

But we are way off track, let's talk about Season 3 Episode 2 in this bitch and crackpot theories in the other thread

can't comment in that thread. But viewers miss so many show points.

Like

quote:

someone mentioned littlefinger, didn't joffrey at the end of blkackwater give harrenhal (sp?) to him? did he know that it's a piece of shite and burned out and by he i mean both of them (joffrey and littlefinger)? littlefinger seemed genuinely grateful but he, like varys, seems to know what's going on so i thought he would know that castle is in ruins.

Littlefinger told Tyrion that Harrenhal was a wreck. To with the Imp replied you get the lands and I plan to make you lord of the riverlands. Tear down the castle and rebuild, you'll surely have enough gold to do so.

I get that every point is hard to catch. Sure it would suck to get a ruin, if that was all you got, but getting control of a vital part of Westeros would be great for a lord from a tiny land.

exactly. this is the key part. he's stripping Riverrun of its power and handing it to LF

Harrenhal has a history of destroying its lords.

EDT Of course LF knows this and never goes there, but heads straight to the Eryie.

I think you're right.

The Targaryens fought a war over this 200 years ago called the Dance of the Dragons.
quote:

Since the Dance, House Targaryen has practiced a highly modified version of agnatic primogeniture, placing female claimants in the line of succession behind all possible male ones, even collateral relations. (See also Daena Targaryen, Daeron II). The war is the subject of the song "The Dance of the Dragons".

Okay, Tyrion would have no claim to the throne unless he was legitimized by a current sitting King (highly unlikely but if he was, he would be the oldest living male heir to the throne and have the better claim over Jon, Dany, or Aegon.)

Aegon would have the best claim assuming he is the true son of Rhaegar and the world accepts him as such, there is much skepticism over that.

Jon Snow would have to prove he's a Targaryen not born out of wedlock to have any claim to the throne. This seems almost impossible to do even if true but even if he did, Aegon would have to be an imposter Taragryen for Jon to have the better claim.)

Dany is the only one who has the facts about her know and accepted by almost everyone, giving her the best claim to throne currently.

I don't believe in the Tyrion Targ theory. I just can't seem to grasp that one.

It's the one everyone loves to hate

I don't know if it's true but it would explain a lot.

That just screams Blackfyre.

Also Dany has the best "claim" because she has a dragon.
