I'd say they'd likely do what they did with Lord of the Rings and go chronological.

They've hinted that they will start to go chronological after whenever Season 3 breaks up the season, likely after one of the very major events in that book.

I'm finishing up the 2nd book, Clash of Kings, and needless to say I am looking forward to the upcoming season. George Martin has created an interesting and excellent set of finely intertwined story arcs.

I blew through all the books. I think I need to go back and read the second one to get ready for the new season!
I can't wait for season 3. (I know, have to wait for season 2 first, but damn, book 3 is probably the best.)

I don't think so. If it does GRRM better get his arse in gear with those last two books, or HBO's gonna catch up to him.
