Rewatching part of the last episode while waiting, I think they messed up with Sam stealing Heartsbane. They should have given it to him after revealing to Sam that his father and brother died (not right in that scene, since it would have ruined the impact, but in an episode or two).

I thought so too, but I could have forgotten him giving it to someone. Jorah would be a good recipient since Jon/Aegon has his family sword and he and Sam already know each other.
