Just out of curiosity, what do you think they should do? They don't really have much in terms of good options. Even Varys acknowledged it's a terrible plan, but it's basically try this or wait for the White Walkers to conquer the North before anybody takes them seriously.

My two cents would've been this:
Dany, hop on Drogon and fly to KL in the middle of the night. Make sure Drogon doesn't do any roaring. When you get there be on the look out for those scorpions. Fly at great height until you are above the red keep. Dive down to the castle and drench this part (point at Cersei's quarters of the red keep) with dragonfire. Then fly back and we'll see if that did the trick. Should take you all of 1.5hrs.

Cersei has Euron, The Kings Guard and that's it as far as troops, no? Dany's got multiple tens of thousands of Dothraki and at least 5000 Unsullied. Take 10,000 Dothraki and 2000 Unsullied and surround Kings Landing and lock Cersei in. Everyone else can go to the Wall and just keep an eye out for any Iron Born for the dragons to burn.

I don't think Dany is willing to commit that much to the north. Jon's goal is to unite everyone, at least for the time being.

The entire concept of them trying to find a wight is absurd. Yes I admit that it does give substance to their claim of the WW threat.
However, wouldn't it be better to simply defeat the Lannisters and unite Westeros as queen?

That's what Dany wants to do as well. Tyrion has convinced her not to. While I get the logic, I'm not sure how many lives he hopes to save with a siege. That could get ugly.

"You expect me to be moved by one, pathetic parlor trick. My Hand, Qyburn, has proven himself more viable than this Night King you speak of."
Meanwhile she would have some trap/poison/trick ready to spring on all of Dany's company that came to the stupid show n' tell.

I acknowledge that it would be better to have the Lannisters provide support.
But there is one big issue, will Cersei provide support in Season 8. She has every reason to betray everybody.
1) If everyone else sends their army, they will be too weak to resist her army.
2) If they fail to stop the WW with their first attempt (a pretty good possibility) then she will blow up King's Landing.
Also, has anyone mentioned how are they going to implement dragon-glass to fight the wights. Are they going to craft weapons from it for this battle or something?
