Well, shite.
He's directed some of the best episodes of all time:
Walkabout
Outlaws
Exodus
Flashes Before Your Eyes
The Man from Tallahassee
Through the Looking Glass
The Constant
The Shape of Things to Come
Happily Ever After
The End
Really for LOST, its more shocking if he didn't direct a great episode of that than vice-versa. Pumped for next week due to this.
Edit: No offense to GoT, but this scene still tops any scene its ever done, and that includes Hardhome and the Red Wedding: SPOILERS

Would anyone here get on board with my idea that the 2 real players of the Game of Thrones at this point are Varys and Littlefinger? Perhaps they will be the last 2 left standing at the end.
Re Littlefinger: I notice in Season 1 at the jousting tournament that he was already sidling up to Sansa.

Littlefinger yes, Varys no. He's just been so hijacked as a character. A character really about "peace", when he's clearly not that in the books.
In the books I agree with you, but I think Tyrion is entering the fray as the third piece. Really I think ADoS will be Tyrion vs Littlefinger vs Varys. It will come down to their 3 actions more than anyone elses. Littlefinger and Varys won't protect the realm, while Tyrion realizes that Dany's (and eventually Jon's) only chance to do so is to save the realm. That is how Tyrion will defeat the two of them.

Those two are really the only two serious players. Tyrion, to an extent, can play the game like they can but he doesn't truly dive as deep as them.

FYI, I'll be in Biloxi Memorial Weekend if anyone wants to assemble for a Maester's moot.

I say go ahead and make the E5 thread. I really think E4 gave us some clarity on the paths these stories are taking. We don't have a whole lot to debate on this one. Anybody still debating who wrote the damn letter to Jon we can just boot them to the Hodor thread!

I'll be at the Beau first weekend in June. Just missed you!

Solid scene, made even better when you consider where they really are.

Darn, I have free rooms at the Beau, Hard Rock, and IP, but a friend will get one of those.
eta: you missed New Orleans a few years back too. We should really set up a gathering for the main crew, perhaps this summer. If the town has casinos, I can probably get at least one free room.

Completely irrelevant topic probably, but is there some sort of foreshadowing or hinting at something going on with LF giving Robin a Falcon? It seems weirdly emphasized, unless it was just to show how little he cared about ruling and how much control LF had

When LF eventually throws Robin through the moon door he'll actually be able to fly.
Law of averages dictates the kid must be able to actually do something eventually.

It's Crackpot, but I do believe that Sweet Robin is LF's son. I'm not sure if this will be shown in the show, but in the books I think it would be a good way of showing how monstrous he is simply to kill his own son to get him out of the way of what he thinks is Sansa/his right.

Question: should I make another thread to speculate on the E5 trailer?
We can discuss the E5 trailer here. That is in no way spoiler territory. They played it directly after the show. We don't need to set a precedent with this.

didn't people make legit crackpot theories about that whenever it came out?
Pretty sure that it had people convinced fAegon was making an appearance.

Nah, he's holding its neck, and who had their throat slit?
Geese swim in water, who's body was thrown into water?
He's a Lannister, which family sided with the Frey's to bring about the Red Wedding?
Clearly, it means UnCat is Coming.

I just rewatched the episode. Guess what LF says to Robin when he walks over towards his bday gift?
