If the gift is Rickon I am thinking it may be a Trojan horse type situation. Pledging loyalty to Ramsey to get inside and turn on him. Also Ramsey may think by keeping him alive he will have leverage to bring Snow to him.

Ramsay my keep him alive, but that won't stop Ramsay from turning him into Reek. If they give Rickon to Ramsay, they might as well sharpen Ramsay's dressing knife as well.

tbh I don't understand why some want to read spoilers
The show is much more enjoyable, at least IMO, when you don't know what's gonna happen next
