Kinda, but that dude wasn't much of a major character. Resurrection is pretty much the lamest cop out of any story ever.

It was a good episode, I just thought the show was better than having to use resurrection to get out of the corner they had painted themselves into. I'm the life of every party, btw. A real mensch.

I join you in your disappointment. This series has been so great because so many unpredictable things (particularly deaths to likeable characters) have happened. Now, we come to realize that any of those likeable characters could have been resurrected as easily as Jon Snow was. No character should fear death in the future. Someone has the power to bring him/her back to life.
This does not mean that I won't continue to watch the series nor that I won't consider it great. It just means that it's flawed. Anyone who wants to say otherwise is simply too much of a fanboy to admit the truth.

No one who gets their head chopped off is coming back to life, and no one who's been dead awhile is coming back, well by Fire Magic, Qyburn is another story.
Jon was only dead a day.
I just talking about the show, not the books.
But they didn't bring back Ned or Robb or put Jamie's hand back on, or a ton of other things they could have done if they were just catering to the masses. Jon was always going to be killed and brought back, just the way it is.

You people act like this is this the first time a character on this show has been brought back to life. I can name a certain character who laughs in the face at the notion of YOLO. Saying this show is going downhill because of a main character coming back to life when he wasn't the only person in the episode brought back from the dead (Robert Strong?!), we've had several episodes in season 2 that featured a character back from the dead, and oh yeah the main menace lurking in the dark of the show is an army of undead overlords is just plain stupid.
Besides, if you knew it was going to happen, then you already knew how you were going to feel about it, and then you watched it for no reason. No one made you watch it. No one will make you watch it. Complaining about the quality of arguably the best show on tv at the moment going downhill is asinine when no one is forcing you to watch it. Like I said previously, if you don't like the show, I'm sure CBS has some high quality programming in their 9 pm slot each Sunday.
