Also, at one point Oberyn shoved his spear straight through Mountain as well (it was from an angle sort of far away though, but I watched the fight several times and it looks like the spear went all the way through and out his back).

Got a screenshot...definitely seems like he shoved the spear all the way through:

Dude, edit that...that straight up ruins the ending of the Sopranos if someone hasn't seen it.

As for Sopranos discussion, just start another thread as to not hijack this one from GoT.

Man it's a shame Oberyn fell asleep at the wheel because he was absolutely pushing the Mountain's shite in up to that point.

We finally get to see a great fighter who actually fights like a great fighter, and then he's killed horribly in a matter of seconds. Damn it.

This is starting to look like the only option to escape spoilers. Even if you avoid this board, some jerkoff somewhere is going to spoil you, and nothing is worse than being told something you did not already know.

Just assume that everybody dies and that any current overall plot/foreshadowing isn't gonna happen.

Yeah, but in a weird way it was satisfying because Oberyn was SO overly confident and cocky that it coming back to bite him in the arse made perfect sense.

I really think they should have had Tyrion yelling at him. "WTF are you doing? Finish him!"

My prediction for next week: Jon Snow will be involved in combat.

Think about it. the show runners made it a point to very subtly point out to us that there are only 100 Nightswatch in Castle Black and there are fricking Wildlings everywhere around them moving in for the attck. Also, if you watched very carefully, you'd notice that Jon Snow was actually IN Castle Black. So, I'm pretty sure he's gonna fight.

It all makes sense if you pay attention.

There, is that theory simple enough to avoid being branded a reader?

My obvious "theory" is that Stannis shows up and saves the Night's Watch.

I've finally come around to it but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't pissed off at first. I liked Oberyn's character a lot, and in a strange way I liked having the Mountain as a powerful, evil figure. I can't think of any truly unlikable characters now except for Cersei, and even she is understandable.

It's like a world full of anti-heroes.

More than anything, I just want to see the guys with these badass reputations doing things to affirm all the talk. Jaime was supposed to be the baddest thing walking and I can't remember seeing him do anything but stabbing Jory in the eye.

Even though I got spoiled on it I was doing the same thing. Damn you stop peacocking and stab that big frick in the face.

Yep if we are to believe the fine Red titty witch this is almost a given unless she's talking about something further in the future.

What did she say..."there will be a great battle in the north and that is where you will be needed.

that's another one...where the hell are yall getting this crap. Last I saw he was getting money from bankers and went to see a pirate....how is he all the way up north all of a sudden with 100k troops or whatnot?

Why not Ramsey...isn't he over there in the North?(last speech, we run this shite with daddy, winterfell) Why Stannis of all people, all of a sudden, all the way up north?

I think GRRM is going to make Ramsay into some super evil frick that runs the north (maybe kills his own dad or something to gain power). Someone needs to take Joffrey's place as the huge a-hole that everyone hates. I think Ramsay is a perfect candidate.

That said, because I think this he will probably die next week or some shite.

I'm pretty sure the red woman said something about a war up north. Also, I doubt Stannis is going to attempt to go through Blackwater Bay again. We all know how that story went. Maybe he'll attempt to go north, possibly gather the backing of more people, then head south to KL.

The Red Witch said the internal warring within Westeros is meaningless implying that Stannis was destined to play a big part in the War at the Wall. You are right that these predictions of Stannis saving Castle Black are getting ahead of themselves. I'm expecting Stannis to attack and take KL in the last episode of this season setting up next season as uniting Westeros and heading North.

BC Stannis' attention is to the Wall now per previous episodes, he's sailing right now, he bought an army, etc.

I don't see any other way the Night's Watch survives the attack for 100K wildlings

ETA: Maybe the white walkers show up and kill all the wildings and rally to Jon Snow for some unknown reason

The Wall itself might be able to do that. Jon Snow seemed to imply that they could barricade the gates to stop them, but his a-hole supervisor was against the idea just because it came from Jon Snow. Maybe Jon Snow and his band of rebels block the gates on their own to save the day.
