Just finished watching the episode...holy shite, Dinklage should win an Emmy for that scene alone. He absolutely killed it.
I'm guessing this explains the Mountain/Oberyn showdown we saw in the season preview. Not sure exactly what ends up persuading him to ask Oberyn, though.

No, I think it's pretty much agreed by most that she was selected for her looks. Her acting is marginal at best.

she's no Streep for sure, but up against the arse clown holding theon hostage, she's oscar-worthy

I think Ramsay does a pretty good job : dunno :

Awful? No. Talented? Probably not. In her defense though, the writers have made her character so one dimensional that I'm not sure what any actress could do with it. Her storyline is horrendously bad.

something about the way he over-enunciates his lines and expressions.....makes me roll my eyes in disbelief
but to the original point - yes, the actress who plays Dany has the range of a daisy air rifle.

It's funny, I was just thinking about how sad this season has been bc we've had so few Tyrion scenes and then he hits us with that final 5 minutes and I'm blown away.
Some thoughts of note:
1. Isn't the Jamie/Tywin deal off the table now since Tyrion will not be going to the NW?
2. Obviously this is how the Mountain comes to fight Oberyn but I'm not so quick to think Oberyn wins. This is exactly the kind of thing that will frick your heart strings up.
3. Danny is realizing that being queen can fricking suck. I've got a feeling shite is about to go poorly for her.
4. The Yara plot line seems like such a waste of time but now I'm interested in what Ramsay is going to have Theon do.
eta: 5. frick Shea.

I concur - Stannis and Ramsay's arcs are boring as hell. Need less of them. Sir Davos saves the Stannis scenes.
Shae's betrayal was so cheesy I almost thought she was trolling Tywin. I hope that was just an act.
Dany's dragons - zero care. I did enjoy the exchange with the lord's son. A humbled Dany is good.

yeah, I do get it - I understand he's supposed to be a nutjob. That's not lost on me.
something about his delivery seems disingenuous to me

Yea shae sucks. I'm surprised she turned on him like that
Cersei would have had her killed otherwise and she's still pissed at Tyrion for dumping her.
Yeah, besides the obvious jilted ex-lover thing, I bet Cersei cut her a deal to spare her life in exchange for her testimony.

Tyrion did have a good chat with Oberyn previously, so he's well aware how much Oberyn wants to revenge his sister. Plus, it's probably a good assumption that they'd want their best warrior to fight against Tyrion's, and who else but The Mountain?
