Yeah, like Jet says...use Game of Thrones Wiki. It is very good about not going past the show. And the only book-related part is at the very bottom (past pictures, quotes, lineage, etc.) in the "In the books" section, so it's very easy to avoid. Most of the page is broken down by season and only talks of the show. It's a great source.
Do not, I repeat DO NOT, use A Wiki of Fire and Ice. It's littered with book shite and all kinds of spoilers.
Like I've said before, the easiest thing to do is just to google "game of thrones _____" and the GoT Wiki is usually the first or second link (heads up: the "awofai" link is also usually up there as well, so avoid it).

Of course he doesn't give up, but there would be a legitimate dispute for the crown and there would be a fight over it. No one is just going to anoint Tywin Lannister King of Westeros.

If Tommen is killed by poison or something like that, and not by force, the Lannisters aren't just going to walk away from the throne. Someone would be propped up as the king, and it wouldn't be Stannis.

Yes, but right now the Lannisters (through Cersei) and Stannis are the only people with a solid enough claim to actually go to war over the Iron Throne. The North went to war over Ned, not the throne. What happens if LF kills Tommen and breaks up the alliance between the Lannisters and Tyrells in the process. You'd have no kingdom with a stronger claim than the other (assuming everyone views Stannis as tainted), and as far as I can tell no strong alliance between kingdoms now that the Starks are gone. I'm not sure if the show would want to go in this direction because the multiple plot lines could get out of hand.

Isn't Stannis the one with the most deserved claim to the thrown? robert Baratheon and Cersei never birthed any sons that lived (or kids period, for that matter), so once Robert died, his oldest brother has the most legit claim, no? And just to be safe, Stannis had Renly merked anyway.
But Robert's only living son, Gendry, has no claim to it since he is a bastard. So it's gotta be Stannis. And it's fairly widely known now that Joffrey and Tommen weren't sons of Robert, so their claims to the thrown are illegitimate anyway (though not many fricks seem to be given about that in K'sL).
ETA: I realize that Stannis isn't viewed positively by everyone, but aside from that his claim is the most legit.
