I haven't read/skimmed the thread yet, but what were the general opinions of this episode? I thought it was a solid episode, but felt like not much happened really (in terms of not many storylines being featured).
So Littlefinger and Old Lady Tyrell were in on the poisoning of Joffrey. Not surprising at all. I liked Margaery trying to get to Tommen and bond with him, and am hella interested to see that play out with them and Cersei. It only took about 2 minutes for Tommen to be in love...Margaery is good at what she does, fasho.
Absolutely LOVED the scene with Jaime and Tyrion. I thought the "Did you really ask if I killed your son/Did you really ask if I'd kill my brother" part was awesome. It's cool how much they care about each other as brothers amidst so much bullshite around K'sL.
I'm wondering if Tywin will lose his mind on Jaime when he finds out he gave that sword to Brienne.
Interested to see Locke and Jon Snow throw down. And since he was sent by Roose Bolton to merk Jon, Bran, and Rickon...once they get to Craster's Keep (where Bran already is), things should get hella interesting.
Dany's scenes = GIANT meh. This bitch needs to get to the sea and on some ships ASAP. I'm losing interest every week. Thank God she's great to look at.
Everything north of the wall is pissing me off a little...
- Bran stupidly gets Summer trapped, and then stupidly gets himself, Hodor, Jojen, and Meera captured.
- I don't remember the Crows at C'sK capturing Ghost...when did that happen?
- The White Walkers...what the frick, man? When this show started, that was the whole deal: that winter was coming and the WWs were gonna go HAM. And not only has that not happened, but we've only seen them a few times since then. And on top of that, last time we saw them they seemed to be marching south to frick some shite up (when Sam saw them at the end of last season). But now they're off doing some sort of ritualistic bullshite with the babies that they get from Craster? WTF? Are they coming or not? Are they just a normal arse society who is loving their own lives and waiting to make this big march south and kill everything? I know they're supposed to be super badass and all that, but I don't even put any stock into them anymore because it's all been a tease up to this point and they're STILL not even worried about heading south. Ned said "Winter is coming"....well, no shite. Everything eventually will happen. If I keep saying "An earthquake is coming in California" over and over, I'll eventually be right by default (de fault - pun not intended).
I absolutely love the show, but goddammit, it's super frustrating sometimes how things get absolutely nowhere.

Very happy they straight up told us it was littlefinger and granny slut.
They also implied Tywin was involved as well. Littlefinger said his new friends (plural) were more predictable, and then Granny obviously had laid the ground work for Margaery and Tommen. Tywin would probably try and have them killed if they tried to steal Tommen on their own.

Last thought. Something is seriously about to go down btw Tywin and Jamie when he finds out he passed on the sword he gave them. Maybe Jamie and Tyrion leave kings landing together?
I hadn't thought about it much but it does seem like they are setting Jamie up for a very different role. He and Cersei appear to be done, he's on the outs with his father, the only family he has left that will claim him is Tyrion. Considering that Sansa appears to be the only other suspect, Jamie and Bronn breaking out Tyrion and going on the run seems about right.
Regarding the complaints about Bran and Daenerys, I think it's obvious they'll both be pretty pivotal in the war with the White Walkers. So the option is to have a filler story line like the Emancipation Tour, or no story line, isn't this the first time we've seen Bran in season 4?

Nope. Remember when he warged the tree and he saw the iron throne covered in snow and a huge dragon shadow over kings landing.

The leader of the Wildling Army is working with the WW, right? The WW will wait until the Wildling Army attacks the Wall. One of the "problems" with GoT is that there are so many story lines to balance. 1 season =/= 1 year. How long has it been in real time since Sam killed the WW? 2 weeks, maybe less?

Nah. I just said that last week, and then this week featured even fewer.
But at least hopefully Podrick and Brienne will catch up with Sansa and those storylines/characters will sort of merge into one. shite like that helps.

Well the WW haven't been seen for like a thousand years right?
Seems like someone should have written down how they defeated them in the first place.

I thought that was an odd mission Jamie gave her. I understand the motivation, but where would they even start their search? Sansa left by boat (which no one in KL knows), but Brienne and Podrick are leaving by land. Are they headed to Winterfell? To her aunt?
Posted on 4/29/14 at 9:22 am to TigerinATL
If I had to guess I would say they are headed to the Ayre.

either way i look forward to your recaps every week

Yeah I thought the same thing...how the hell would they even remotely know where to start looking? Because they're already wrong (seeing as how they're on horses and she's on a boat, like you said).
It does sort of make sense though, since Brienne is sor of meandering around K'sL with nothing to do. Her mission was to take Jaime back there in exchange for Catelyn's daughters. Well, Cat is now dead and neither of her daughters are in K'sL anyway. So Brienne is just sort of there. And on top of that, she's drawn the ire of Cersei who knows how she feels about Jaime and doesn't like it at all. So maybe Jaime knows he needs to get Brienne the frick out of K'sL to avoid Cersei's wrath, and Podrick was already leaving on Tyrion's orders, so it made sense to pair them together.

Ha, thanks.
On a side note, I find myself amazed that I actually really like Jaime as a person now. I remember last season and season two hating that dude (awesome character, terrible person), and every time something bad happened to him I was glad because he was a dick. And now he's almost done a complete 180. I still remember what he did to Ned and him throwing Brandon off the tower and all that, but he seems to have taken a HUGE character arc, and has almost become sympathetic. I dig just about every scene he's in.

You talking about Mance Rayder? He and the WWs aren't in cahoots from what I remember.

Yeah, maybe the goal was to just get them out of KL. Like I said, with no other potential suspects other than Tyrion's wife, Jamie, Tyrion and Bronn on the run seems like the only viable plan.

Yeah, that's the name I couldn't come up with. And I guess the Wildling Army was heading south to escape the WW themselves?

I don't see that happening. I just don't see Tyrion and Bronn "on the run." Both of them seem to thrive in K'sL, even with Tyrion being in dire straits at the moment.
Same with Jaime..I don't see him leaving. shite, he FINALLY got back there, where he's been trying to get forever. No way he just up and leaves.
And even though Jaime's a cripple now, he's still Tywin's son, and Tywin still respects him. shite, even though Tywin blames Tyrion for his wife's death, and loathes the fact that he's an imp, he still takes care of Tyrion because like he says, he's "still a Lannister." It seems obvious to me that Tywin is gaining control of the three judges to make sure Tyrion is found innocent. I think it may come down to either Tyrion or Cersei dying since they are the ones at odds the most, and I think (hope) Tyrion should be smart/clever enough to win that battle.
