It was Ramsey's idea in the book to burn the boys, basically Reek = Dagmer Cleftjaw in the show

Tywin orchestrating the RW with the freys and boltons. It was just as subtle in the books, its mentioned a ton but i did not even think twice about what he could be writing about.

I think he is referring to the letters sent to the Boltons/Freys to betray Robb. In that scene he says that he will "do whatever he can" so save Jaime. I thought it was brilliantly subtle.
