Tyrion is still the best character in the show
Anyone else notice how Dinklage's name was last or near last in the opening credits last year and after his Emmy his name is now the first to appear.

so how many different groups are trying to over throw Geofrey? Who is trying to gain who's allegiance?
Posted on 4/8/12 at 11:49 pm to Lester Earl
Joffrey's main opponents currently are Rob Stark, Stannis Baratheon, and Renly Baratheon.

Are Stennis and Renly separate though?
werent they both trying to get the black pirate to help them?

Robb Stark wants the North independent. He's got the North, the Freys, and the Tullys and their bannermen.
Renly (little brother of King Robert) wants the throne. Of the Iron Throne claimants, he's got the most support outside of Joffrey (because the Lannisters own everybody. Think China).
Stannis (brother of Renly and Robert) has Dragonstone, a witch, and the people he's been able to buy (Salladhor) or scare.
Danaerys is across the sea. She's got the leftovers from a Khalasar and 3 baby dragons.
Balon Greyjoy wants an independent Iron Islands and whatever else he can conquer. He's kind of like a Viking.

then throw in some Targaryen (Dany's main goal is to get back the iron throne) and now Balon Greyjoy may have something up his sleeve

Lots of sex scenesthis episode. Do the books talk about sex every three pages or so?
No. They've "spiced it up" for HBO. I can't remember if the redhead prostitute even exists in the books.

Robb sent Theon Greyjoy to talk to his dad so they can get his fleet of ships, correct?
the meeting on the beach with the pirate. Wasn't that both Stennis and Renly?
ETA: the Targaryen's are easy to follow.
i mainly wanted to know if the Barentheon brothers were on the same team.
and that the elder Greyjoy shuns his son and is going to go on attack on with his own people

Yes.

That was Davos (Stannis's friend) and his son.

Nope. People want Stannis to support Renly, but Stannis is big on the honor thing. He thinks he has the right to the throne.

Yep

how relevant is his son?

I have no idea whether it happens or not, but I'm interested in seeing what happens if Robb defeats Joffrey. Does he just say "OK, well I guess I'll leave King's Landing now, just leave us alone", or does he take the throne for himself.

Not. And it's Davos's son, not Stannis. Stannis only has a daughter (who appears not to be in the show).

Stannis is the one who's always with the girl in red.
Renly is the "pretty boy."

How come in this episode, the red witch says that stannis's wife has been sick and locked away but just last week we saw stannis leave the beach bonfire with another lady? Was that not his wife?

Yeah, that entire line didn't really make sense on multiple levels.
