I can only imagine how Ned and Howland survived the Tower of Joy with the Kingsguard there...must've had some divine intervention.

It was 7 vs 3......

These were 7 of Ned's best as well. And all of them were battle hardened northmen. One of which was the Wull clan chieftain. You don't become the chieftain of the biggest Clan in the North without being a badass.

While possible I consider it highly unlikely. That would rule out another very prominent theory

And my one comment from last round, Victarion Greyjoy with his strong hand would have murdered Strong Belwas. He was a glorified pit fighter without armor or proper training. While a great brawler, Victarion would have disposed of him within minutes. Whoever voted for Belwas knows nothing.

Belwas took on a champion who was fully armored and on horseback, and toyed with him like a toddler in a sand pit.

This, Victorian is just as untrained and sloppy as Belwas, at least we've seen Belwas defeat a champion (with extreme ease)

What? One of the main houses in Westeros and you don't think he had a Master at Arms in his castle?

He defeats a nobody. (Noone cares about a hero from Mereen) We see Victarion catch a sword with his freaking hand and toss a Serry out the damn boat. Add to this his magic hand he gets from Moqorro and this would not have even been a contest.

one of the greatest Lord Commanders of the Kingsguard of all time

Was he really one of the greatest of all-time?
I've often thought that he was pretty crappy commander.

Duskendale- Aerys goes with the Kingsguard to Duskendale and he is taken captive and imprisoned. Seems like a major fail on the part of the commander of the Kingsguard. Selmy has to go and save him.

Kingswood Brotherhood- Gets injuried by one of the Kingswood Brotherhood, and allows them steal the Princess' jewels & a 'kiss'. Due to his wounds, Arthur Dayne has to lead the KG, and wipes them out.

War of the Usurper- The Prince was killed in battle at the Trident & his entire family murdered in KL. The King is slain by one of his own Kingsguard. And the commander was in Dorne.

And I don't think preventing Jamie from stepping in stopping Rhaella's rape gets him any credit with regard to Commander of the Kingsguard.
