The non high profile quote thread got me thinking. Who is the funniest character in Caddyshack?

Obviously its not Danny.

With that said each of the big guns had so many classic lines.
Bill Murray

Chevy Chase

Ted Knight

Dangerfield

Tough choice between knight and dangerfield to me

Murray

This is a hybrid. This is a cross, ah, of Bluegrass, Kentucky Bluegrass, Featherbed Bent, and Northern California Sensemilia. The amazing stuff about this is, that you can play 36 holes on it in the afternoon, take it home and just get stoned to the bejeezus-belt that night on this stuff.

I gotta go with Dangerfield. Great one liners.

Dangerfield and I don't think it's even close honestly.

Its obviously Rodney.

Ted Knight puts in the work though as that unintentionally awkward funny guy. He's the most important guy in the film.

Ted Knight might have played the greatest straight man in comedy history.

Dangerfield steals the show.

Murray for his Dhali Llama story and Knight for his putting kids younger than Danny to death dialogue.

It’s Dangerfield followed by Knight. Murray was great, but just not big enough of a role to be considered the funniest.

Knight was a great straight man.

I remember reading that he was pretty pissed with the production. He was the only one not doing blow and partying all night. Old school professional that took his job serious.

I find myself quoting Ted Knight more than anyone else in the movie.

That would have to get old if you're a dude like Knight.
