Is it just me or were the earlier seasons a bit more magical and fun? Regardless, I'm sticking with this show.
Will they make "first contact" at some point? Or would that be too on the nose and obvious?

I'm woefully behind the curve on this show. Started rewatching where I left off , to get into the Artemis spirit and it's a bit of a slog. What's everyone's favorite seasons ?

Season 1 and 2 are my favorites. Season 3 is the weakest but it recovers in 4. Only one episode into season 5 so far.

There are some characters I like, even if the story goes a bit off the rails.

3 is the one weak season. Get through that one and you are good. The rest of the seasons are all top notch.

Yeah I started watching near the middle of season 3 a couple of years ago and never finished it because it just got annoying.
Finally picked it back up last week, and I’m glad I did. S4 was a lot better. Enjoying S5 so far as well.

Don't love the show but already invested in it.
Will watch this while waiting to see where they gonna go with Silo.

Me neither.
I love that the sheriff is just playing the sheriff from True Blood.

I think the problem I have with these alternate history type shows is that they often ignore the sequence of events which lead up to the way things play out, and just take everything at face value. "Oh, we didn't do this first? OK, then we'd automatically pick up the role of what the others did and just carry on from there." That's not how history works, and I get it, the show needs drama and all, but I find the overall treatment to be clunky and simplistic.

The hardest part of the suspension of disbelief is the willingness, I suppose.

Writers have spoken to this, like GRRM, I believe. They go to such effort to build a world and know that adding something that just doesn't fit will wreck the whole thing.
It's not up to the fans or audience to be 'willing' to stick to the verisimilitude. It's up to the writers.

I knew he sounded familiar. It’s even funnier since that actor from True Blood played Deke in the early seasons.

I guess I'm not following what you've described as the problem.
Is there an anachronism that pierces the veil for you?
Is the general mix of fiction and "nonfiction" just off to you?
Can you provide an example?

I get it. Was disappointed to see that Joel K. is quite Swedish.

The Mars rebellion storyline is dragging for me. I’m convinced Dev is orchestrating this whole thing from the start. It just feels like a rehash of last season’s troubles.
It looks like we will finally be getting some “space” scenes this week with Kelly and the crew’s mission to Titan.
I was hoping Aleida would have given them permission to shoot that KGB bitch.
