Very mixed.

It: Chapter Two is the biggest disappointment of the year. A dull & bloated mess that spends too much time rehashing things from the first film. While there are a few good moments, the film ultimately lacks suspense and scares. The performances are also a mixed bag. #ITChapterTwo

#ITChapter2 isn't as refined as the first, but it's still an excellent ensemble piece, oozing with heart & packed with extremely well-crafted set pieces. Muschietti weaves the young & adult Losers together super well, giving IT 2 a truly epic feel. (MVP: Bill Hader as Richie.)

#ITChapter2 has a rushed, clumsy first act & an odd lack of chemistry among the adult Losers. But it eventually finds its footing. This is a BIG movie—a go for broke horror blockbuster not afraid to make weird choices. Bill Hader steals the show. #ITMovie #ITChapterTwo

So, #ITChapterTwo: it's v. good, but not great. I liked it, but didn't LOVE it. First movie is a tough act to follow. TWO is gruesome, strange but rarely scary. Nails important aspects from the book, but feels overlong. Cast is aces, though, & Bill Hader SHOULD be in Oscar convo.

#ITChapterTwo is probably scarier than chapter one - more Pennywise imagery to haunt your dreams. But it also loses a lot of charm in the shift in focus from the coming of age to the now adult characters. At nearly 3 hours it feels long.

#ITChapterTwo lacks the focus of Chapter 1, but it keeps the roller coaster scares going from beginning to end. Hader is the clear standout, and if anything, I wanted MORE Skarsgard. The end is just as bombastic as you'd hoped it would be, but with the heart to back it up.

Oh! #ItChapterTwo is a big, creative, scary movie. It’s more fun to root for kids but the adults are perfectly cast. It ends up running too long but it’s a good follow-up and some images will stick with you. R-rated goodness.

Hopefully it's good.

I enjoyed the first one even if they cut out a lot of the mystic stuff.

But the book was like that too with the adult sections sometimes slogging.

I thought the first one was just so so, this looked to be more of the same.

I honestly mostly hated the first one...but it's because I love the book so much. They took the story mostly in name only and changed so many things unnecessarily...

The book is huge, and really could never be made into a 4 hour movie without leaving out a TON (so I've always been in favor of it being a 2 season long show on HBO, Netflix, Amazon, etc...and animated) but to change so many things made no sense to me.

I can't imagine how they were planning on doing a part 2 that was not running along side the past story like in the book.

No surprise Hader is the best part. Dude is killing it right now.

All those review say to me, is that IT ch2 is really just a rehash of the TV series. Which wasn't very good either. The acting was bad, and while Pennywise was cool, the series just doesn't hold up.

The Ritual is in this movie. One of the reasons why this one is so long is stuff that they were going to do/show when they were kids would have added too much to the production cost and no one is greenlighting horrors movies that cost $75 million plus.

I’m excited. Loved the first one because it was so much more than just a standard horror film.

I didn't hate it, however I disagree with how much people on here hype it up. It was a good, not great watch as a standalone film but disappointing as an adaptation of the book.

Hader outshining McAvoy is surprising. I'm hoping for a space turtle and gang bang but I doubt we'll get either.

I like the sound of that. I hope to see more big budget horror movies in the future. This one will surely make a crazy amount of money.
