She/He knew it would get casted in this show looking like that. The agents probably tell them to put non-binary on their resume as a sure bet to get the job.

Someone mentioned, she isn't even listed in the cast. That's because the cast list is mostly leaked names, either people admitting they're in it, or that someone identified from the images.
Regardless of what else there is, you have to admit, if you were making a trailer and wanted to put "crazy evil" in it, and you had that person's images, it's a no-brainer.
If you don't know the story, it's an easy jump to say "that person looks SO fricking crazy and evil, it HAS to be Sauron". WE know, Sauron wasn't supposed to be like that at all, so we say "oh shite!".

The Green Dragon is well known by Tolkien fans. There was even a song about it by Merry and Pippen in the trilogy.

Probably because some Reddit idiot started a rumor
I can imagine the first season will be a slow buildup of some mysterious evil building back up in Middle Earth with the aid of several of Melkor followers and minions. Before the fall of Numenor, many corrupted men were openly worshipping Morgoth by Sauron’s influence.
