I came to a strange conclusion.

Landsman and Bubbles wound up being my favorite characters in the series, overall.

When Bubbles finally spoke about Sherrod, I was moved to tears. . .

. . .I don't know that that has ever happened to me during a TV show.

I think I related to Dukie and Michael more than any characters in the show. My childhood paralleled theirs in many ways.

Duquan's downfall was the saddest part of the show for me.

I really liked Jay towards the end too, he was always there for some comic relief. Season 5 gets a bad rap IMO.

One of the best pieces of art in human history. Shakesspeare, The Beatles, The Wizard of Oz, The Wire.

I'll never be able to hear someone whistling "The Farmer in the Dell" without picturing Omar ever again.

Yeah, that was rough.

What a great show. Can't wait to re-watch it again.

I think the scene that tore me up pretty bad was when Michael dropped off Bug to his Aunt. Most of the cast introduced from Season 4 tugged at our heart at some point in S4 or S5 in a big way.

Bubbles is the defining character of the show. I love his arc.

On S1E5. Will be my 3rd watch. And I am hooked into every episode like it was the first time I watched it about 2 years ago.

My first watch through, there was always a fear in the back of my head that Bubbs would meet his end on the show.

After I watched The Wire on DVD for the first time, I waited about 8 months before rewatching it. I went through it even faster the second time around and enjoyed it more.

I thought it was funny how Poot just kind of went away, then popped up working at a Foot Locker

If you look back. . .Bodie always protected him.

Nobody was going to mess with him, so long as Bodie was there.

Bodie getting killed meant he couldn't hold a corner. If you can't hold a corner, you can't last in that business.

And then the next scene when Michael drops Dukie off. Dukie asks him if he remembers when they threw the piss balloons at those boys and Michael thinks and says no.
